7.0 Outputs Of Micro-Project:-

Solar thermal power plant consist of following components or parts :-
1. Heliostat : a solar power tower system used a large field of flat, sun tracking mirrors
placed around the tower in circular form called as heliostat to reflect the sunlight or
solar radiations on the solar heat receiver mounted on the top of tower.
2. Solar heat receiver :-due to huge heat water present in solar hat receiver converted
into steam having high temperature and high pressure.
3. Steam storage drum :- steam generate in solar heat receiver is stored into steam
storage drum or tank .
4. Steam turbine :-the steam having high temperature and pressure fed to the steam
turbine through steam valve over the turbine blades which converts kinetic energy of
steam into mechanical energy and steam flowing after useful work exhausted to the
condenser.
5. Alternator:- The steam turbine coupled to an alternator which converts mechanical
energy into electrical energy and delivered to the bus-bar through transformer,
isolator and circuit breaker. This are protective devices.
6. Exciter:- The rotor of an alternator carrying field winding which is supplied direct
current through two sliprings by a separate D.C. source. This D.C. source is a small dc
shunt generator mounted on the same shaft of an alternator.
7. Condenser:- To improve the efficiency of plant steam exhausted from the steam
turbine is condensed by condenser and condensed hot water again feed to the solar
heat receiver.
8. Cooling Tower:- The hot water from the condenser to is passed through the cooling
tower where it is cooled. The cold water again reused in the condenser cooling tubes
if sufficient quantity of water is not available.
8.0 Skills Developed :-
1. Hence we studied working principle of solar power plant.
2. We prepare model of solar power plant.
3. Motor skill.
4. Intellectual skill.
5. Communication skill.

9.0 Applications of Solar Power Plant:-

1. The solar energy is used in residential homes for heating the water with the help of
solar heater
2. Solar power plant used to generate electricity
3. It is used to power radio and TV station.
4. It is used for charging of mobile batteries.
5. It is used for street lights.
