Barangay Botocan was established in 1960-1961 as a civic barrio led by Mr. Aresio Erediano and members of the community organization "Tanglaw ng Nayon". In 1964, Barangay Botocan was officially declared a barangay by Mayor Norberto Amoranto. The first elected officials in 1970 included Mr. Guillermo S. Notario. Martial law was declared in 1972 and barangay officials were appointed rather than elected. Elections resumed in 1982 and Mr. Erediano continued serving as barangay captain. 1960-61 - In the beginning Barangay Botocan is a civic Barrio headed by Mr.
Aresio Erediano and some constituents who are members of the “COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION” so called “TANGLAW NG NAYON” whom the President was Mr. Aresio Erediano, and the Vice President Mr. Guillermo S. Notario, and they appoint Board of Directors, as follows; Rolando Balatbat, Tomas Langomez, Leopoldo Frilles, Juan Gimpes and Tiding Igliane. On that time through the initiative of TANGLAW NG NAYON, Barangay Botocan was created, after the name of BOTOCAN TRANSMISSION LINE, and there 50 families residing on the said Civic Barrio now Barangay Botocan.
1964 – When Barangay Botocan, declared as Barangay through Mayor Norberto
Amoranto. (1970) when there was an Election and the elected Officials was; Guillermo S. Notario, Wilie Igliane, Tan Escalona, Mildred Galon, Eufrocino T. Santos, Juan Gimpes, Tomas Langomez and Urias Tulid, appointed Secretary is Mrs. Edna P. Camua and Treaurer Mrs. Precentacion Torres, they serve Barangay Botocan until the declaration of Martial Law on 1972. Barangay Officials was abolished on that time President Marcos appoint on the same position, Mr. Aresio Erediano as Barangay Captain, Guillermo S. Notario, Tomas Langomez, Leopoldo Frilles, Juan Gimpes, Cezar Gaton and Tiding Igliane. After these Martial Law there was again another election on 1982. Barangay Captain won again in the said Election and Barangay Captain Erediano serve the constituents of Barangay Botocan up to 1989. After the 1986 Revolution, Barangay Officials was demolished again because there was the so called Collegial Election or Block Voting, it means that the highest numbers of votes will be the Barangay Captain, and Mr. Aresio Erediano won again and he serve again until 1991, then he passed away, and the successor is Mr. Arturo H. Lee who is the first Councilman after this events another Election was came again 1994, and Mr. Arturo H. Lee won with landslide votes on the said Elections and last 1997 Election won with overwhelming votes of the constituents, Hon. Arturo H. Lee now the Barangay Captain of Barangay Botocan, with his Barangay Kagawad elected, Hon. Norma C. Erediano, Hon. Eufrocino T. Santos, Hon. Randy V. Brien, Hon. Eleuteria Y. Salutso, Hon. Marlyn P. Gamos, Hon. Celino N. Soriano, Hon. Paolo F. Gimpas and our S.K. Chairwoman Marilou G. Bataller, Mr. Rolando B. Terrible, Barangay Secretary and Mrs. Edna P. Camua our Barangay Treasurer.
