IMPORTANCE OF COMPUTER

What is Computer? A computer is a device that can be instructed to carry out sequences
of arithmetic or logical operations automatically via computer programming. Modern computers
have ability to follow generalized sets of operations, called programs. These programs enable
computers to perform an extremely wide range of tasks.(Wikipedia)

The importance of computer in our daily lives. In the current world, it’s almost
impossible to imagine that someone can live without computers. They have become an electronic
device or almost every day use for individuals of every age, and essential in almost all the
business dealing that are made nowadays. In recent years they have gained significance as they
have improved the efficiency and productivity of work done. Large amounts of information in
industrial and business sectors as well as in the personal lives are stored on servers.(Pixuffle,
2014,)

Computer is an electronic device used in almost every field even where it is most
unexpected. And now we cannot imagine a world without computers. It is made up of two things
one is the hardware and other is software. These days computers are the tools for not only engineers
and scientists but also they are being used by millions of people around the world. Computer has
become very important nowadays because it is very much accurate, fast and can accomplish many
tasks easily. Otherwise to complete those tasks manually much more time is required. It can do
very big calculations in just a fraction of a second. Moreover it can store huge amount of data in
it. We also get information on different aspects using internet on our computer.(Webroot, 2014)

According to T. Myles (2015, March 31) Computer technology is used to serve and connect
people in the modern world. Desktops, laptops and mobile devices network the world together and
perform multiple operations at once; however, this industry includes more than these machines.
Individuals, communities, government and organizations rely on computer technology to produce
or innovate the majority of things in their lives, such as food, services, entertainment, care,
communication, education and transportation.

According to WikiEducator (2015, April 17) Computers have changed the way we work,
be it any profession. Therefore, it is only natural that the role of computers in education has been
given a lot of importance in recent years. Computers play a vital role in every field. This is also
why the education system has made computer education a part of school curriculum. Considering
the use of computer technology is almost every sphere of life, it is important for everyone to have
at least the basic knowledge of using computers.
