Steve McCurry is a photographer he overs subjects like Iran-Iraq war, Lebanon Civil

war, Cambodian Civil War. He even almost died in a airplane crash in Yugoslavia.

Worldwide published even contributes to Nation Geographic. He s sixty-nine born on

April 23,1950 in Darby, PA he was born. He shoots with a Nikon D810 and a 27-70 mm

lens. He went to Penn State University and started to like photography there. “Afghan

Girl” is a beautiful picture he took and was published by National Geography. McCurry

was portrayed in a TV document called “The face of the Human Condition. He also won

the World Press Photo Award for general news, daily life, children’s award, nature

through out time he has worked hard to take amazing photos to be able to win these

awards. A well known quote he has aid before is “My life is shaped by the urgent need to

wander and observe and my camera is my passport.” By this he means that he is

constantly looking and checking since most of his pictures are around events and things

that the world doesn’t usually see since. For example the “Afghan Girl” is a picture of a

beautiful girls with green eyes and dark toned skin and what she has wrapped in her head

matches and the picture comes together. She is a refugee reveal war-zone trauma. While

taking this he faced the Soviet helicopter flying over them.
