Film goes around a character(small boy) who is orphan, naughty, careless towards his family till

he grow adult, cinema lover, learn the things by watching, he is brave and at a certain point he
started to support his family by doing a job in cinema, and how he leaves a small town and
becomes a big man.

things that i like.

1. life of a character is shown in a very perfect way , and how maturity comes as per the time
and experience has been shown in very good manner.

2. every part of life is presented in a well decorated way. like in childhood( naughty+ desperate to
do a work + carelessness) , and as the age grows love + passion towards his work.

3. innocency of the child grabs the audience.

4. alferado plays a perfect and important part in the film that takes the main character towards
the final outcome of movie that is** at the last main character comes back at the same place
from where he was running throughout his life his inner conflicts were clear at the end of film
his outer conflicts were shown through out the film(will be described below).

5. i like the shot when alfredo puts a reflecting mirror in front of the projector and allow the
audience who didn’t get the chance to saw movie in side the theatre.(alferado’s inner conflicts
were shown throughout the film from start to end(fine).

6. why i like the shot that i have written in point 5 -: the cinema we watch today in the theatres is
a process of 127 years and that shot shows ho a camera plays a import role in our life that
prints a film from a real world to the screen and *how that reel life becomes a massive(biggest)
source of entertainment, and the very next shot after that was manager ask his assistant to
give tickets to the persons who were watching film outside of the theatre( The Square) which
shows/reflects that how cinema becomes a source of income/business.

7. art work was quite impressive that how the time changes and according to that development
in the town increases. like when main character was child there was broken roads sign of
WW2 can be seen in the movie.\

8. every thing was quite natural noting seems made up by the production designers “although
we know it was designed by production designers”.Ex- from a theatre of mid 19th century, to
projector room, the living of persons in the town, perfect condition of a square at the time of
WW1, and lunch box of alferado.

9. another shot that i like most is the ending shot when main lead comes back to the town where
he belongs and he was trying to forget everything of that town but when he comes back he
finds that the he was not far from this town , these peoples, these places, the cinema theatres,
and lit brings him back where he was when he was a kid/young.

10. why i love that shot :- the shot that was taken it includes all the things that character was
trying to forget and it was clear that he was never far from those things,persons, he never
forget that things of this town, everything was there in his unconscious mind.but he used to
say to his mind that he forget those things, persons, etc. THAT SHOT REPRESENTS THE
WHOLE INNNER CONFLICTS OF HIS, THAT WAS HIDDEN/NOT CLEAR IN THE MOVIE.
EVEN WHEN HE WAS A CHILD/YOUNG/ADULT.

11. another shot that i like is at the starting when main character comes in his room and ** look
outside of the window and we sees a shot taken from another apartment in which 1/3 frame
was given to character and rest was given to the Musical Pipes. ** AND THE SHOT WHEN HE
HEARS THE NEWS ABOUT THE DEATH OF ALFREDO “ THOSE PIPE,S SHADOW was ON
HIS FACE.

12. another shot that i like most is at the funeral of alfredo when main character saw a boy with
father same as he used to go in his childhood.

THINGS THAT I DONT LIKE

1. INNER CONFLICTS OF MAIN CHARACTER WAS NOT CLEAR AT THE TIME OF WHEN HE
COMES IN YOUNGER AGE.

2. THERE WERE SOME UNWANTED SHOTS/characters THAT WAS THERE IN THE FILM **
JUST BECAUSE TO MAKE THE POPLE LAUGH (AND PEOPLE LAUGHED BUT I FINF THOSE
SHOT Irrelevant AS PER THE STORY’S PLOT.

LIST OF THOSE SHOTS/characters.

1. A GUY THAT WAS SHOT DOWN BY THE GUN IN THE THEATRE (WHY? OKY I ACCEPT THAT
SUCH KIND OF INCIDENT COULD HAPPENED, BUT AFTER THAT FOW IT IS POSSIBLE
THAT NO ONE FINS OUT ABOUT THAT NO EFFECT OF THAT MURDER ON THE THEATRE.

2. A PERSO WHO USED TO COME TO SLEEP IN THE THEATRE BY PAYING MONEY (AND ON
THE OTHER HAND THAT GUY HOLDS A LOW CLASS FAMILY.

3. A PERSON WHO USED TO SPIT ON THE AUDIENCE everytime.

3. MOTHER OF LEAD CHARACTER INNER CONFLICTS didn’t reflects AS PER THE SITUATION
(IN HER OLD AGE) LIKE she lost her husband, and after 20 years her son has gone and HER SON
did NOT VISIT HER FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS she should be emotionally weak as she was in her
young age, inner conflicts were hidden behind the stubborn nature of her’s with a belief that his
son will come some day.

4. a shot that was not professionally correct that was - the leaving train’s shot when the main char
leaves the town THE POV OF THAT CHARACTER, DOP tried to cheat on that shot but it was not
a professional POV shot. (because when we take a pov we need to place the camera in such a
way that it look like actor is watching that shot from his eye. in this shot actor was in the middle of
train so we must have some part of train because *as per the shot* a turn can be seen on the
tracks of train.

5. a reson behind his not coming back to his town was that alfredo told him that he is meant to
do something big, something big is predefined in his life and he said that 2 times in the film when
the film was going in a deeper direction, BUT throughout the time we didn’t get to see the work
that he did or position in the society that he archived. what alfredo was talking about.

INNER CONFLICTS OF CHARACTERS .

MAIN LEAD:-

AS A CHILD - 1.LOVE TOWARDS MOVIES,

2.THINKS ABOUT HIS FATHER BUT NOT TOO emotionally attached with him,

3.Careless towards his family.(this is what can be expected from a child).at a point
he becomes supportive by doing a job in theatre.

4.brave,

5.helpful, even if it is in the classroom or in the time of any tragedy.

6.He chooses cinema over the need of his widow mother and sister

AS ADULT :- 1.love for filming things,

2.love for cinema,

3.too much love for a girl that is shown by an event :- He follows a fictional story
that alfredo told him and he stands 99 days outside of that girl’s home to whom he loves ,
stubborn towards the thing that he want to have in his life.

4.ATTACHED WITH HIS FAMILY+ALFREDO

5.confusion of going back to his town or not is there is his mind when he is leaving
the town.

6.he is not far away from the town from the people he was with in his childhood *he
realise it when he came back.

Alferado:-

1. he has this conflict in his mind that he could not done anything big/great in his life and he is
doing the same business from the last 40 years/when he was 10 years old.

2. he saws a image of his in main lead and don’t want that he become like me, when he has no
child.

3. love+ sympathy for main lead.

4. wants to see him as a big man.

5. care about main lead.

6. supportness for his wife.

7. too experienced that he find that projector is blurred.

OUTER CONFLICTS

MAIN LEAD

AS A CHILD -

1. He rush towards fire to save alfredo from fire without caring about his life.

2. learn the projector’s working just by watching alfredo.

3. collects the cut reel films of censored scene.

AS ADULT :-

1. could not tell the girl that he loves her.

2. dare to sit on father’s place in church and propose the girl.

3. helps alfredo when he is blind.
