Objectives of the Study:

1. To know what are the best-selling or variety of products being offered and its price and

also the strategic location of the store.

2. To know the distinction between the McDonald’s Sta. Rosa Waltermart (SRW) and to its

nearby competitors on how and why it stand out from the rest of them.

3. To know if there is any significant relationship between the location of the store and the

prices of the products being sold.

Statement of the Problem:

The main purpose of this study is to determine, analyze, compare and understand the

relationship between the specific location of the business enterprise and the prices/pricing of

the products being offered / sold of this certain food industry which is the McDonald’s

focusing in Waltermart Sta. Rosa.

1. What are the best-selling products and are the prices reasonable and affordable compared

to its competitors?

2. What makes the McDonald’s Sta. Rosa Waltermart (SRW) distinctive among the others

which are also in the same line of business that are close in proximity to it?

3. Is there any significant difference between the location of the store and the prices of the

products being sold?

Statement of Hypothesis:

Based on the identified problems, the researcher formulated the following hypothesis:

HO: There is no significant relationship or difference between the location of the store and

the prices/pricing of the products being offered and sold.

Discussion with the Resource Person:

The McDonald’s specifically in Waltermart Sta. Rosa located at Balibago Road, San

Lorenzo South Laguna. It is open from Mondays to Sundays and starts at 5 in the morning

and closes at 9 in the evening. In fact, it is attached to a mall which is the Waltermart Sta.

Rosa where there are also other restaurants and variety of shops to find. In addition, the mall

mentioned earlier where the McDonald’s is attached / located is close to Enchanted Kingdom

which is an amusement park; it is also near to subdivisions, schools and churches.

Variety of Best-selling Products and its Prices:

The researcher gathered information from the first assistant manager of the distinctive

enterprise McDonald’s Waltermart located in the admirable place of Balibago Road, San

Lorenzo South, City of Sta. Rosa Laguna. To provide strong proof and reliable evidences on

the above questions, some of the gathered

information from the interviewee, Ms. Mia Barlaw is presented. The first question of the

researcher is, "What are the best-selling products and are the prices are reasonable and

affordable compared to its competitors?” Ms. Barlaw answered that the best-selling products

that they offer/sell are the Chicken McDo, Chicken Fillet, its other various burgers and fries.

She added that their prices are "swak sa budget" therefore the pricing is reasonable. In fact, a

lot of students and teenagers eat there and they always do come back again.

She also said that the foods that they offer to their customers are quite similar to the

other fast-food chain however; they make sure there are still prominent distinctive

differences like the appearance (packaging, dine-in serving, take-out food, etc.) and the

filipino-american taste that they serve to their customers which they love. They make it

innovative and keep on track the trends not just inside the country but also in the

international scene being a worldwide fast food chain. To justify this, they have just recently

launched the "Flavors of Japan" consisting of the Samurai and Ebi Burger, Cherry Blossom

(Sakura) McFreeze and the Famous Twister Fries that is noticeably incorporated or inspired

by the country Japan which very popular for the consumers.

Distinctiveness of McDonald’ s Sta. Rosa Waltermart (SRW):

Aside from the information stated above, the McDonald’s doesn't just serve appealing

and tasty foods/products but they also offer world class service. The

manager said that they don't just serve their customer like a stranger. They make their

customers feel welcomed and at home and also treat them with what they call "Malasakit"

where they show concern and ask how they are by greeting and asking them "Kamusta po"

every time a customer enters the store unlike the others where they greet their customer with

their usual greetings (the goodmornings or good afternoon, the thank yous and come again).

In addition, the other food shops or restaurant is not located inside of the mall not like

the Mcdonald's which adds to its advantages where it is a strategic location for a business

because lots of people come to the mall and after they shop or after they went to a mass there

they usually go straight right ahead to feast in McDonalds rather than to cross the road to eat

to the other restaurants for it is nearer, more apparent, notable and recognizable and

convenient or hassle-free that attracts the

customer to buy there. Also, the manager have shared that their store will be having a

renovation next year that will upgrade the store and turn it into a NXTGEN store which

means "next generation" store that will bring world class customer experience to the next

level. It will offer the customers a modern

industrial design and the new service platform featuring innovations that have been

previously rolled out internationally: self-ordering kiosks that allow cashless payments, split

counters for ordering and claiming, and Guest Experience Leaders -- highly trained crew

members specifically tasked to entertain the needs of the customers and acquaint them with

the NXTGEN experience.

They are committed to continuously invest to elevate the experience of their Filipino

consumers as we bring global innovations closer to home.

Significant Relationship:

There is no significant relationship between the location of the store and the prices of the

products because the location is not part of the pricing. It is part of the marketing strategy of

the business/enterprise on where they can gain more demand and how they will attract the

customers. Location is not part of pricing but the renting/rental does. The store is not paying

for the location. The store is paying for a specific area or address therefore there is no

significant relationship between location of the store and price of the product. And also,

pricing of the products depends on the head of the management or to the people who are

responsible or designated for that work in determining the pricing, other costs or expenses,

etc. on how they will price the product. The authority may price the products with regards to

the location but it is not that much really significant.

Analysis, Comments, & Recommendation:

The researcher came up with these analysis, comments, and recommendation base on the

answers regarding on the said sub-problems:

For the first problem or question, "What are the best-selling products and are the prices

reasonable and affordable compared to its competitors?", the interviewee

elaborated what are their best-selling products and she explained and proved that their

pricing is reasonable and affordable which depicts the jam packed customers who are

enjoying eating there.

The second question, "What makes the McDonald’s Sta. Rosa Waltermat (SRW)

distinctive among the others which is also in the same line of business that are close in

proximity to it?", the researcher acknowledges or recognizes and approve the statements of

the interviewee because it is very evident by just through observation, visiting, checking and

comparing the other stores and through thorough analysis of its surroundings and other

factors that affects the store's operations.

To support these, the researcher also ate there to experience the food, service, and the

ambiance of the store.

The third question regarding to the significance between the location of the store and the

prices of the products being sold, the interviewee opposes that there is a significant

relationship between the location of the store and the prices of its products. The researcher

agrees with the interviewer that there is a relationship but not that significant because in

business and in the accounting world the other costs and expenses are consider in designating

a pricing method for a certain product but so is also the other factors that affects and has an

impact towards prices and it is more significant in terms of marketing and advertsing

strategies as was said by the interviewee in order to be able to attract numerous customers

and raise its sales or to achieve its desired profit.

Conclusion:

1. The best-selling products offered by McDonald’s Sta. Rosa Waltermart (SRW) are the

Chicken Mcdo, Chicken Fillet, its burgers and famous fries and they are reasonable and

affordable compared to the nearby competitor stores like the milktea and desserts shops that

sells limited products and much expensive restaurants.

2. The distinctive characteristics of McDonald’s SRW are its world-class service giving a

world-class experience. Their strategies, training, and plans to innovate and upgrade the

whole store and its operation to compete locally and internationally to satisfy and make their

customers delighted.

3. There's nothing much significance between the relationship of the location of the store and

the prices of the products being sold for it is more on or it focuses on marketing and

advertising strategies.
