Jesus “Gary” S. Domingo

 Is presently the Philippine Ambassador to New Zealand, and concurrently

accredited to the Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.
 Joined the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, after passing the 1990
DFA Foreign Service Officer Examinations. His foreign postings have
included the Philippine Missions to the United Nations in New York (1995-98)
and Geneva (2007-13), and the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
(1998-2002). In Manila he had served as DFA Assistant Secretary for UN and
International Organizations (2013-16).
 Studied at Georgetown University (BS Foreign Service) and Harvard
University (Government & International Relations) in the US, at the Foreign
Service Institute of the Philippines (FSI), University of the Philippines (MA
Philippine Studies), National Defence College of the Philippines (Master in
National Security Administration) and Philippine College of Criminology (PhD
Criminology), the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and
Human Rights (Master of International Law of Armed Conflict) and the Geneva
Centre for Security Policy in Switzerland.
 Has been awarded the National Order of Gawad Mabini, rank of Dakilang
Kamanong (Grand Cross) in 2016, for his work with the UN, Peacekeeping
and International Disaster Assistance Coordination for Supertyphoon Yolanda.
 Is a member of the Philippine Marine Corps Reserve, holding the rank of
Lieutenant Colonel, and Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, with the rank of
Commodore.
 Taught at the FSI, Lyceum of the Philippines, Miriam College, and DLSU-
College of St. Benilde.
 Is a member of the Order of the Knights of Rizal, UP Vanguard Fraternity Inc,
Alpha Phi Omega International Service Fraternity, Philippine Guardian
Brotherhood Inc. and founder of the Knights of St. Gabriel.
 Was active in the Jaycees, Rotary and Lions.
 He is married to Medy, and they have a daughter, Julianne.
 Is interested in Science Fiction, Military History, Heraldry and DJ’ing.
