Psalm 53:1–6

The New International

Version
1
The fools says in his
heart,
“There is no God.”t
They are corrupt, and
their ways are vile;
there is no one who
does good.
2
God looks down from
u
heaven
on all mankind

Page 1 of 21
to see if there are any
v
who understand,
any who seek God.w
3
Everyone has turned
away, all have become
corrupt;
there is no one who
does good,
not even one.x
4
Do all these evildoers
know nothing?
They devour my people
as though eating
bread;
they never call on God.
Page 2 of 21
5
But there they are,
overwhelmed with
dread,
where there was
nothing to dread.y
God scattered the
bonesz of those who
a
attacked you;
you put them to
shame,b for God
c
despised them.
6
Oh, that salvation for
Israel would come out
of Zion!

When God restores his
people,
let Jacob rejoice and
Israel be glad!

BOOK IV
Psalms 90–106
Psalm 90
Page 4 of 21
A prayer of Moses the
man of God.
1
Lord, you have been our
dwelling place
throughout all
generations.
2
Before the mountains
were born
or you brought forth
the whole world,
from everlasting to
everlasting you are God.
3
You turn people back to
dust,
Page 5 of 21
saying, “Return to
dust, you mortals.”
4
A thousand years in
your sight
are like a day that
has just gone by,
or like a watch in
the night.
5
Yet you sweep people
away in the sleep of
death—
they are like the
new grass of the
morning:
Page 6 of 21
6
In the morning it
springs up new,
but by evening it is
dry and withered.
7
We are consumed by
your anger
and terrified by your
indignation.
8
You have set our
iniquities before you,
our secret sins in
the light of your
presence.
9
All our days pass away
Page 7 of 21
under your wrath;
we finish our years
with a moan.
10
Our days may come to
seventy years,
or eighty, if our
strength endures;
yet the best of them are
but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly
pass, and we fly away.
11
If only we knew the
power of your anger!
Your wrath is as
Page 8 of 21
great as the fear that is
your due.
12
Teach us to number our
days,
that we may gain a
heart of wisdom.
13
Relent, LORD! How
long will it be?
Have compassion on
your servants.
14
Satisfy us in the
morning with your
unfailing love,
that we may sing for
Page 9 of 21
joy and be glad all our
days.
15
Make us glad for as
many days as you have
afflicted us,
for as many years as
we have seen trouble.
16
May your deeds be
shown to your servants,
your splendor to
their children.
[a]
17
May the favor of the
Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of
Page 10 of 21
our hands for us—
yes, establish the
work of our hands.

Psalm 91 New
International Version
(NIV)
Psalm 91
1
Whoever dwells in the
shelter of the Most High
will rest in the
shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2
I will say of the LORD,
“He is my refuge and my
Page 11 of 21
fortress,
my God, in whom I
trust.”
3
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly
pestilence.
4
He will cover you with
his feathers,
and under his wings
you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be
your shield and rampart.
5
You will not fear the
terror of night,
Page 12 of 21
nor the arrow that flies
by day,
6
nor the pestilence that
stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that
destroys at midday.
7
A thousand may fall at
your side,
ten thousand at your
right hand,
but it will not come
near you.
8
You will only observe
with your eyes
and see the
Page 13 of 21
punishment of the
wicked.
9
If you say, “The LORD is
my refuge,”
and you make the Most
High your dwelling,
10
no harm will overtake
you,
no disaster will come
near your tent.
11
For he will command
his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your
ways;
12
they will lift you up in
Page 14 of 21
their hands,
so that you will not
strike your foot against a
stone.
13
You will tread on the
lion and the cobra;
you will trample the
great lion and the serpent.
14
“Because he[b] loves me,”
says the LORD, “I will
rescue him;
I will protect him, for
he acknowledges my
name.
15
He will call on me, and I
Page 15 of 21
will answer him;
I will be with him in
trouble,
I will deliver him and
honor him.
16
With long life I will
satisfy him
and show him my
salvation.”
Psalm 92 New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 92 [a]

A psalm. A song. For the

Sabbath day.

Page 16 of 21
1
It is good to praise
the LORD
and make music to
your name, O Most High,
2
proclaiming your love in
the morning
and your faithfulness
at night,
3
to the music of the ten-
stringed lyre
and the melody of the
harp.
4
For you make me glad by
your deeds, LORD;
I sing for joy at what
Page 17 of 21
your hands have done.
5
How great are your
works, LORD,
how profound your
thoughts!
6
Senseless people do not
know,
fools do not
understand,
7
that though the wicked
spring up like grass
and all evildoers
flourish,
they will be destroyed
forever.
Page 18 of 21
8
But you, LORD, are
forever exalted.
9
For surely your
enemies, LORD,
surely your enemies
will perish;
all evildoers will be
scattered.
10
You have exalted my
horn[b] like that of a wild
ox;
fine oils have been
poured on me.
11
My eyes have seen the
defeat of my adversaries;
Page 19 of 21
my ears have heard the
rout of my wicked foes.
12
The righteous will
flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a
cedar of Lebanon;
13
planted in the house of
the LORD,
they will flourish in the
courts of our God.
14
They will still bear
fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and
green,
15
proclaiming,
Page 20 of 21
“The LORD is upright;
he is my Rock, and
there is no wickedness in
him.”
