Sept. 23
Note from third grade:
This week our third grade classes have begun to talk about and
practice active listening. Today we talked about the difference
between hearing and listening. We also worked to describe
traits of good listeners. Throughout the week we will be learning
places that we can practice this skill, how to paraphrase what
others are saying and how to respond appropriately. This is a
skill we will be assessing.

Upcoming Dates Homework


Sept. 27 - Half Day This week your child will be bringing home
Oct. 3 - Blandford Field Trip 1:00-3:00 new words. If your child forgets the pattern,
Oct. 17 - Picture Retakes or you want to check it, the words are
Oct. 23 - Half Day written in the correct category on the first
Oct. 24-25 No School - CEA page of their spelling homework. This will be
Convention due on Friday.

Also this week, your child will be bringing


home a reading log. They need to read 20
minutes and write down the title and a
sentence or two about what they read.

What We’re Learning


Bible: We are beginning our new Math: We are exploring different
unit on the study of Genesis and models of multiplying: equal groups,

smaller groups, etc. We are also
