Welcome the EIE Head Erica Acuña opened the meeting and welcome the EIE Head and Staff, Crispin Jon
and Staff Sadia, Jeminah Coeli Olayta, Criscel Anne Bognalos. Introduction was taken.

Review on July 22, 2019 The minutes from July 22, 2019 were reviewed. Erica Acuña moved to accept the
Minutes minutes as written. The Ateneo de Naga University Head Department seconded the
motion of the meeting.

Welcoming and Erica Acuña started the first agendum by introducing Crispin John Sadia to report
introduction of the the EIE policy.

Presentation on EIE The EIE representatives key points:

Policy Nature ● The organization promotes the EIE policy in all university to help the
students to catch up in the fast growing global changes upon English
language.
● In which, the society is considering English language as a prominent
language that can be used at all aspects.
● To solve this issue the EIE policy will encourage students to speak using
English language in communicating with other people even the staff and
faculty of the university.
● The EIE policy will be implemented to almost all subject may it be
reporting, recitation, discussion, and or any condition except Filipino

subject to also give value to our national language.

● Upon implementing the EIE policy, we can help our country to be globally
competitive by producing future leaders that can engage in conversation
with others.

Presentation on EIE The EIE representative - Criscel Anne Bogñalos:

Policy Benefits ● English Immersion Environment (EIE) policy can help the students to be
outstanding in academics and be linguistic. It is because there would be
times that new words will be acquired through having conversations with
others, that can help to develop and practice her/his vocabulary.
● The people in the university will be exposed in English Language that can
help them being fluent that would be beneficial to their future endeavours.
● To gain self-esteem talking in front and with other people because of the
milestones they gain through EIE policy.

Presentation on EIE The EIE representatives brief history:

Policy ● 2 years ago the English Immersive Environment policy was previously
called English Only Policy.
● The difference in EOP and EIE is that in EOP everyone is obliged to
speak in English no matter the circumstances. However, in EIE policy
everyone is encouraged to speak.
● Long term benefit can be acquired in implementing EIE policy in the
university.

Naga City.
