CAT 2019 Form filing Guide

How to fill and submit the online application form for CAT 2019 (Register here). Fields marked with * are mandatory.

Important CAT 2019 Dates:

Online Registrations 7th August 2019 (10:00 am)

Last date to apply 18th September 2019 (5:00 pm)

Admit Card release date 23rd October 2019

Documents Required at the time of registration

✓ Photo: The photograph should not be more than 6 months old; dimensions should be 30 mm X 45 mm.
Maximum file size 1 MB in JPEG, JPG format only.
✓ Signature: Maximum 80KB in JPEG, JPG format only.
✓ Category Certificate (if any): Prescribed format as per CAT 2019 SC-ST/ NC-OBC/ EWS.
✓ Disability Certificate (if any): Prescribed format as per CAT 2019 PwD Form V/ VI/ VII.

Important Note:
★ Photograph/Signature/SC-ST/ NC-OBC/ PwD/ EWS certificate should be scanned using a scanner only. Do not
use mobile phones or other mobile applications to scan the documents.
★ In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by
the respective Board/University/Institution. If any Board/University/Institution confirms that there is no
scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, candidates can use the general rule for converting CGPA
into Percentage. CGPA/Total CGPA*100.

Step 1: “Create an Account”

Important Instruction: CANDIDATE NAME should be entered EXACTLY as it appears in 10th/SSC Certificate.

❏ Register using your personal details and create an account.

❏ Once the registration is completed, click on “Registered Candidate Login”. Enter “User Name” and
“Password” to access the application form. Click on “Go to Application Form”.

Step 2: “Personal Details”

➢ The applicant will have to specify Personal Details and upload documents.

Other Personal Details

➢ Category details to be mentioned (If any): Category (SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS) >> State/Union Territory of
Category >> Serial/Entry/Certificate Number of Category >> Caste/Tribe Name.
➢ Mention Disability (If any)

Upload Documents
➢ The NC-OBC/SC/ST/PwD/EWS certificate should be in the prescribed format issued by the competent
authority. (Refer to the CAT 2019 website for sample format.)
➢ Certificates should be SELF ATTESTED scanned copy.
➢ Applicant name on the certificate should match with the name mentioned during Registration.
Step 3: “Academic Details” (Refer to page no: 12 of CAT 2019 Guide for more details)

Mention Academic details:

✓ 10th/SSC
✓ 12th/HSC
✓ Bachelor Degree (Graduation): (if more than one Bachelor's Degree, for example Bcom + LLB or BE +
BPharm. Applicant will have to mention the same by adding a new field).
✓ Master’s Degree (Post Graduation)
✓ Other Professional degrees: CA/CS/ICWA

❖ For SSC/10th/Equivalent examination & HSC/12th/Equivalent/ Diploma examination Maximum marks &
Total marks obtained (inclusive of all subjects mentioned on the marksheet).
➢ For example, if there are 5 subjects with 100 marks assigned to each subject, the candidate should
populate the ‘Maximum Marks (inclusive of all subjects)’ placeholder as 500.
➢ For example, if the candidate has obtained 457 marks by adding individual marks obtained in the 5
subjects, a candidate should populate the ‘Total marks obtained (inclusive of all subjects)’
placeholder as 457.

❖ If a candidate has a dual degree with both a Bachelor's and Master's (BTech + MTech or BTech + MSc) enter
the appropriate details in the Bachelor's and Master's degree sections.
 Step 4: “Work Experience (If any)”
Important Note:
❏ Enter your work experience as on 31st July 2019.
❏ Only Full-time experience after graduation must be entered.
❏ Part-time/Project/Internship/Articleship/Pre-graduation work experience should not be entered and will
not be considered as work experience.
❏ Candidate must enter the exact date of joining and relieving of that particular industry.
❏ Mention the number of months candidate temporarily exited the particular industry in the “Break in
Experience” box.

Step 5: “Program Selection”

IMS would strongly recommend applicants to select all 20 IIMs and the mentioned 59 programs.

❖ The applicant can select any number of programmes.

❖ For each programme selected, applicants can select any 2 preferred cities (Interview City Options:
Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai)

Step 6: “Test City Preferences”

❏ Applicant can select any 4 Test Cities as per preference.

❏ 1 among the 4 preferred test cities will be allotted (subject to availability) to the Applicant after the last date
of registration.
❏ If an Applicant is not allotted to any of the preferred test cities, the applicant will be allotted to a nearby test
city.

Step 7: “Payment Details”

Important: Applicants MUST PREVIEW the application form before confirming the payment. Once the payment is
confirmed, applicants WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to make any further changes in the application form.
Applicant will have to pay the Applicable Registration Fee through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/Cash
Card/Wallet.

Application Fee:
➢ ₹950 for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
➢ ₹1900 for all other candidates.
