SCHOOL CHILD - PROTECTION POLICY


1. Aduas Elementary School shall protect children from all forms of violence that induce
prohibited acts such as child abuse, discrimination against children , child explotation,
violation against children commited in school and corporal punishment.

2. The school shall protect the right of children to assistance, including proper care and
nutrition, and special protection from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, explotation and
other conditions prejudicial to their development. it shall foster love of humanity, respect
for human rights, develop moral character and personal discipline (Philippine
Constitution).

3. The coverage of this policy is children who are enrolled, school personnel, parents and
school visitors.

4. Supports Republic Act No. 7610 which protect child from abuse as maltreatment of a
child thatincludes psychological abuse or physical abuse; neglect or cruelty, sexual abuse
and emotional maltreatment;any act by deeds or words that degrades the dignity of a
child as a human being; unreasonable deprivation of the child’s basic needs for survival;
failure toimmeiately give medical treatment to an injured child resulting in serious
impairment of the child’s growth and development and permanent incapacity or death.

5. Pupils have the right against discrimination or to an act of exclusion, distinction,


restriction or preference which impairs the recognition , enjoyment or exercise by all
pupils or students on an equal footing of all rights and freedoms.

6. Pupils have the right against sexual explotaition or to the abuse of position
vulnerability, differential power, or trust for sexual purposes.

7. Pupils have the right against economic exploitation or to the use of the child in work or
other activities for the benefit of others.
8. Pupils are safe guarded from violence against children or to actscommitted in school
which result in physical, sexual, psychological harm or suffering.

9. Children are refrained from corporal punishment such as physical, humiliating or


degrading punishment which is carried for the purpose of discipline, training or control.

10. No pupil or peer abuse towards a particular victim by bullying or cyber bullying who
may be outnumbered, younger, weak with disability, less confident or otherwise
vulnerable which result inphysical and mental abuse, harassment, intimidation or
humiliation.

11. Criminal and civil liability arising from child abuse, discrimination, exploitation,
violence and other acts of abuse areseparate and distinct, and shall not be bar to the filling
of an administrative case.

12. All bullying incidents shall be reported to the School Head within 48 hours and shall
in turn inform the parents of the pupils concerned and a meeting shall be held for that
purpose.

13. Complaints shall not be brought for amicable settlement before the Barangay, subject
to existing laws, rules and regulations.

14. Pupils shall be referred to the Child Protection Committee ( CPC ) for counselling
and other interventions.

15. The CPC shall accomplish an Intake Sheet to asses both the victim and the offenders
and report actions taken on the case.

16. The Intake Sheet shall be forwarded to the DepEd Division Office.

17. All information that may result identify the pupil or student subject on child abuse
shall be withheld from the public to protect his her privacy.

18. The Magna Carta for the Public School teachers protects the rights of teachers and no
publicly shall be given to any disciplinary action against the teacher during the pendency
of his her case.
