- Versatile for both thinning and final felling -

The HEMEK H 16 is a powerful harvester for both thinning and final

fell applications.
The design has been improved with stronger steel construction in
both the front and rear chassis and a new front bogie.
The H 16 is powered by a Scania DSI 9 turbodiesel engine with
intercooler, rated at 246 hp.
Independent tests have shown that the self-leveling Pendo cab
increases productivity. The cab rotates for unparalleled visibility.
Vertical dampening further enhances operator comfort.
The hydraulic system has three dedicated pumps for the drive, crane
and harvester head functions.
The standard Mowi crane is patented with an inner lift beam to
provide excellent lifting force, even at full crane extension.

The Prosilva base machine is designed for environmentally friendly logging. It is small,
agile, yet dependably stable. This machine can be easily maneuvered in thinnings without
the need for wide driving trails.
Due to its low weight, the machine does not cause any significant soil compaction.
Furthermore, the two-axle design with its unique hydraulic drive system provides for an
unbroken soil surface, even during sharper turns
The high degree of stability has been achieved by lowering the center of gravity. To do
so, heavy parts were placed low to the frame. The frame, robust in itself, holds the fuel
and hydraulic oil tanks. All these features combine to lower the center of gravity and
ultimately the overall height of the unit (which facilitates public road transport).
By the same token, the lower total height means that the cab is closer to ground level.
This innovation reduces the shaking and jolting experienced by operators in difficult
terrain.
Visibility from the cab is excellent in all directions (which includes tree butts/stumps
often hidden by low branches). The windowed roof, in turn, is for tree top viewing.
The cab is of course FOPS and ROPS approved. It has air conditioning, ergonomical seat
and controls, plus many other features for improved operation comfort.
The engine produces an ample 155 hp. This combined with the simple but still state of
the art hydraulic system makes it possible for the machine to operate successfully enen in
clear cutting.
A lot of emphasis has been put toward easy servicing and repair of the whole unit. To
begin with, the design has been kept to its simplest form. Next, all superfluous gadgets
have been either eliminated or combined to function in conjunction with some other
element. All parts have been planned for easy accessibility, even those found under the
cab. Another bonus is that main parts and accessories are available through local
suppliers all around the world.

Efficiency

Efficient thinning requires a harvester that is easy to steer and capable of moving swiftly
in terrain. Sampo Rosenlew 1046X harvester moves easily even in most demanding
conditions and it can reach every tree that is to be removed. The machine is driven using
only one pedal. The frame-lock and brakes are automatically switched on when working.

Environmental factors

Trees must be harvested efficiently also in

thinnings but damage must be avoided.
Sampo Rosenlew 1046X moves swiftly
without any damage to the ground. Due to
the new harvesting method haulage roads can
be opened far from each others. This means
that damage and loss of growth of the
remaining trees can be minimized.

Hydraulic transmission

The sophisticated hydraulic transmission of the harvester makes it very easy and simple to drive.
The differential gear as well as the transmission can be switched on separately for the front and
rear. The transmission allows longdistance driving on the road, too.
 Economy

When small stems are harvested in thinnings, productivity is

relatively low. The limited production requires that capital and
operating costs are reasonable. Thanks to the efficient
production methods adopted by Sampo Rosenlew we can offer
the harvester to forest contractors at a very reasonable price.
The Sampo Rosenlew 1046X harvester has proved to be
reliable and economical to use. It helps to maintain the
productivity of the forest while it yields a profit to the
contractor.

The Timberjack 608B and 608B-HD
Harvesters represent the refinement and
evolution of the field-proven 608
Harvester design.
These harvesters offer increased
ground clearance, tractive effort and
service access, as well as superior
operator comfort for increased
productivity.
Unlike excavator conversions, the
608B Harvester is purpose- built with a
new optimized boom set. With a reach
of 32' 6" (9.9 m) and minimal tail
swing, the 608B Harvester is ideal for
selective cuts and commercial thinning
operations. The highwalker under-
carriage provides up to 30" (76 cm) of
ground clearance for great mobility.
With superior operator comfort in
mind, Timberjack has updated the cab
interior and reduced interior sound
Timberjack
levels. A high back fully adjustable seat
with armrest mounted mini-lever
joysticks makes the 608B Harvester a
comfortable place to work. A sliding
rear window with an insect screen, large
storage areas and coat hook are just a
few of the features designed to enhance
operator comfort.
All routine maintenance can be done
from ground level and the service access
doors have been made 21% larger.
Debris cleanouts have been added to the
turntable and boom mount, while
changes have been made to minimize
the entry of debris.

HTH620 Harvester Head
The versatile Timberjack HTH620 is highly productive in
thinning or regenerative harvesting in both hardwood and
large diameter softwood. Ideal application where 80% of
the timber is 40 cm (16") or less.

Measuring and Control System
Timbermatic 10:
Easy to operate system that has up to 18 pre-selections for
tree species and assortments.
Adjustment of feed roller pressure, start of feeding and
saw bar control are all done automatically. The clear menu
and easy-to-use joystick controls make the system
user-friendly.
The Timbermatic 10 measures the length and diameter of
the tree and calculates the total volume produced. It is a
modular system and data is transferred in a digital format.
This means fewer wires down the boom thereby
significantly reducing the risk of errors and enhancing the
reliability of the system.
