I. Case Study

Introduction

A case study is a method deeply observe the characteristics of individual unit such

as a person, a group or a community, in order to analyse various phenomena in relation

to the unit of study.

Case studies can be produced by following a formal research method. These case

studies are likely to appear in formal research venues, as journals and professional

conferences, rather than popular works. The resulting body of 'case study research' has

long had a prominent place in many disciplines and professions, ranging from

psychology, anthropology, sociology, and political science to education, clinical

science, social work, and administrative science.

In doing case study research, the "case" being studied may be an individual,

organization, event, or action, existing in a specific time and place.

For this case study, I interviewed someone who had experience in pre-marital sex.

II. Historical background

Having sex for the first time, or losing your virginity, is an important life event for many

people. Deciding if you are ready to have sex for the first time is very personal. Whether it's

your first time or not. Many people feel strongly that their first time should be saved for

someone special, or until they’ve reached a certain age. Some people have sex for the first

time when they are teenagers, while others choose to wait until they are older. For some

people it's important to be married before they have sex.

The World health organization (WHO) defines adolescent people as those between the ages

of 10-19 years. Adolescence is the time of transition from childhood to adulthood during

each young people experience significant physiological, psychological and social changes

following puberty which is difficult phase if it is not handled properly. Because, young

peoples are at high risk of practicing risky premarital sex, due to the risk taking behavior

during this age group. Premarital sex is explained as a penetrative vaginal sexual intercourse

performed between couples before formal marriage. It is characterized as being

unanticipated, unpredictable, inconsistence with values and personality, uncontrollable and

becoming the common feature of adolescents (Noozori, 2014).

In today’s daily living pre-marital is common to the teenagers which is I took a research

about this and find a suitable respondent for this type of study. Before that he told me to hide

his identity and not to leak his personal information before we start the interview. His

experience starts way back in 2017 in his girlfriend’s home at North Cotabato. He told me
that before they begin he convinced his girlfriend first and talk some erotic and sexual

languages and they begin to experience sexual arousal.

According to a Tufts University neuroscience blog, sexual arousal doesn’t happen in a

vacuum, but in a context. It involves cognitive, physiological, and neurological processes,

all of which include and are influenced by emotion. Both of them agree with their desires so

they start right away, they do lots of practices and do it as their daily habit. The reason he do

that thing is to have knowledge of specific sexual acts, he has full of curiosity and questions

about those stuff that he saw in his phone, heard from his male classmates and learn from

his friends. He really wants to explore further with his girlfriend, he has a strong aggressive

and anxious emotional reaction towards sexual behaviors.

A 2018 study suggests integral links between sexual, emotional, and reproductive brain

processes having to do with the endocrine system and, in particular, a hormone called

kisspeptin. That is why they tried it and touch themselves when they’re alone. When he was

a kid he has lots of doubts about how he exist in this world that’s why when he finally know

the truth he wants to try and experience it. His fantasies kicks again when he was in his

puberty stage, he frequently masturbate often in his room and thinking with those bad stuffs

to satisfy his desires and so on until in the present.

III. Assessment & Findings

1. What do you think about the reasons that some students in your age can remain

uncommitted to having premarital sexual intercourse?

Most people don't consider the emotional effects of premarital sex. You see, sex is

an emotional experience and it affects our lives in ways we don't understand. After

engaging in premarital sex, many people express feelings of guilt, embarrassment,

distrust, resentment, lack of respect, tension, and so much more.

2. How people know to prevent premarital sex?

3. How people think about premarital sex?
