Combative Sports ( Arnis)

 Is considered as an extensive martial art technique which


includes weapon teaching like solo baston ( training in single
sticks), double baston ( double stick) , technique espada y
daga ( stick and knife or blade training) and empty hand self-
defense.

 Remy and Ernesto Presas who develop Arnis in the


Philippines.

 Remy Presas the Father of Modern Arnis, he wrote the first


book in Arnis that is considered as the “ bible ” among
Physical Education teachers.
 Arnis is only known as a traditional Filipino martial
art.

 LapuLapu – the first master of Arnis.


 Miguel Lopez de Legaspi- had recognized the skills of the
Filipino’s I martial arts in stick and sword fighting.
