SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN FOR GRADE-7 MATHEMATICS

Prepared by: Jennelyn G. Malayno

I. OBJECTIVES The student’s will be able to:
a. Differentiate between constants and variables in a given
algebraic expression
b. Identify a variable, constant and algebraic expression in the given
equation; and
c. Relate constant and variables in real life.
A. Content Standard demonstrates understanding of key concepts of algebraic
expressions, the properties of real numbers as applied in linear
equations, and inequalities in one variable.

B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
is able to model situations using oral, written, graphical, and
algebraic methods in solving problems involving algebraic
expressions, linear equations, and inequalities in one variable.

C. Learning Competency/Objectives M7AL-IIc-3

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson Differentiate between constants and variables in a given algebraic
expression
C. Presenting examples/Instances of the new lesson The students will be given an activity in which they will fill in a table and
identify which given is a variable, constant and algebraic expression.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills The teacher will ask the students how they come up with their answer and
#1 the teacher will discuss the lesson.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills The teacher will give examples.
#2
F. Developing mastery The teacher will give more examples and will let the students answer on
(leads to Formative Assessment 3) the board.

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills Who or What do you consider constant in your life?
in daily living How about variables in your life?
H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the The will give another example and ask volunteer to answer and explain as
lesson generalization.
I. Evaluating learning The teacher will give 10 items test.
J. Additional activities for application or remediation
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation

B. No. of learners who require additional activities for

remediation who scored below 80%
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners
who have caught up with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked well?
Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my principal
or supervisor can help me solve?
