SH. PREM PRAKASH AWARD

The award will be governed by the following terms and conditions:-


1. There shall be ONE one-time award called the “Sh. Prem Prakash Award” for a value of Rs. 3,500/-
payable ate the beginning of the year out of the interest accruing from the endowment of Rupees
One Lakh donated to the University of Delhi by Sh. Prem Prakash.
2. The award will be made on the basis of merit every year only among those children of class IV
employees of the University and its Colleges who after passing the 10+2 Examination from the
CBSE, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, join the 1 st year of any regular
Degree Course in the University.
3. If no candidate is available from the family of class IV employees, eligible children of Class III
employees of the University and its Colleges will be considered for the award in that particular
year.
4. No student shall be eligible for the award if he or she already holds any award/Scholarship of the
University of Delhi or any other University or the Central Government or any State of India or a
Private Body.
5. In case an awardee under the Endowment Scheme is given any other award or gets financial aid
from any other source, the amount received by him/her from the Endowment fund shall be
refunded by him/her to the University, from the date he/she is awarded any other award or gets
financial assistance other than a freeship.
6. The unutilized amount accruing from the interest on the endowment should be added to the
corpus of the endowment fund.
REGULATIONS
(A) Applications for the award should reach the Registrar giving detailed information on the prescribed
form obtainable from the Registrar, University of Delhi, Scholarship Cell by the date mentioned in
the Notification issued in this respect by the Registrar.
(B) The award shall be made by the Academic Council on the recommendation of the Selection
Committee constituted for the purpose. The members of this Committee shall be:
1. Registrar
2. Deputy Finance Officer
3. Deputy Registrar (Scholarship)
(C) The payment of the award amount will be made to the awardee through the Principal of his/her
College on presentation of a bill and a certificate to the effect that the awardee is not in receipt of
any other award of financial assistance from any other source.

*The above scholarship has since been converted into one time book grant (Standing Committee (Scholarship)
meeting dated 28th September, 2007)

** The value of the book grant be at the present accrued annual income on such endowment fund (Standing
Committee (Scholarship) meeting dated 27th January, 2004)
