All India Company Law Quiz-2019

1. Objective

The Company Law is a core subject under the Company Secretaryship Course. The objective
of this competition is to enhance the knowledge levels of students in Company Law and allied
areas and to generate interest among the students for in-depth study of the subject including
greater conceptual clarity.

2. Cash Awards to the Winners

To attract larger participation of students in this competition, the Institute has introduced
Cash Awards from the year 2019.

The winners of the final round of the competition shall be eligible for Cash Awards and
Commendation Certificate as per details given below :

3. Fees

There is no participation fee to be paid by the students to participate in the competition.

4. Eligibility

All students of the Institute having a valid registration number as on the date of registration
for competition shall be eligible to participate. However, students of ICSI who have cleared
all modules of Final Course / Professional Programme are not eligible to participate. ICSI
Employees and their wards / spouse, etc. are not allowed to participate in the competition.

5. Format of the All India Company Law Quiz

A. Registration of Students for participating in the competition

All students of the Institute having a valid registration number as on the date of
registration for competition shall be eligible to participate in the competition. However,
ICSI Employees and their wards / spouse, etc. are not allowed to participate in the
competition.

The Registration for the competition shall be through online mode and the online window
for registration shall be kept open for 3 days ( i.e. from 26 th August 2019 at 00:00 hours
to 28th August 2019 at 23:59 hours). Those students who register for the competition
through the online mode shall ONLY be eligible to participate in the Preliminary Round of
the competition which will be held on 12th October 2019 from 08:00 AM to 20:00 PM.

B. Preliminary Round of the competition

This round will be conducted through an Online Competition in MCQ Pattern on 12th
October 2019. The Online Quiz window will be open during 8:00 AM to 20:00 PM on 12th
October 2019, during which the students may login and appear in the competition.
Duration of the competition will be 20 Minutes during which a student is to attempt 25
questions. The students who shall be scoring minimum 20 Marks out of a total of 25 Marks
shall be shortlisted for the next level i.e. Semi-Final round of the Competition. A student
will be allowed to appear only once in the competition. The Online Quiz will be conducted
separately for students of Foundation, Executive & Professional Programme Stages. There
is no negative marking in preliminary round.

C. Semi-Final Round of the competition

All participants qualified the Preliminary Round of the Competition, shall be eligible to
participate in the Semi-Final Round of the Competition. The Semi-Final round of the
competition shall be organised on 6th November 2019 from 08:00 AM to 20:00 PM.

The difficulty level of questions in the Semi-Final Round shall be higher than the
Preliminary Round.

This round will also be conducted through an Online mode in MCQ Pattern on 6th
November 2019. The Online Quiz window will be open during 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on the
date of competition during which the students may login and appear in the competition.
Duration of the competition will be 20 Minutes during which a student is to attempt 25
questions. A student will be allowed to appear only once in the competition.

The Online Quiz will be conducted separately for students of Foundation, Executive &
Professional Programme Stages. The Results will be computed Region-wise & Stage-wise
and Top Four Students in each Stage from each Region will be shortlisted. In all, 12
Students (i.e. Top Four from Foundation, Executive and Professional Stages) from each
Region shall be selected who will be invited to participate in the National Round. There is
no negative marking in semi-final round also.

Pattern of Preliminary and Semi-Final Rounds of Competition

(i) Total 25 Questions of 1 Mark each and the Test has to be completed in 20 Minutes
(The window shall display the Timer during the Test and the same will
automatically close at the end of stipulated time)
(ii) There will be no negative marking.
(iii) The Online Quiz Competition shall be in MCQ Pattern in Any Time Anywhere mode.
Students can participate in the Quiz through Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops and
Desktops which have internet connectivity.

(iii) Resolution of Corporate Disputes, Non-
Compliances & Remedies
(iv) Companies Act
(v) Current Topics related with Corporate,
Business and Economic Affairs

D. Final Round of the competition

All 48 Finalists (16 Finalists for each Stage) will travel to the city wherein the Final Round
of Company Law Quiz will be conducted. For participating in Final Round of competition,
travelling & lodging expenses of students will be borne by ICSI. Date & place of Final round
shall be announced separately. Three all India Winners of each stage as selected in the
Final Round will be given Cash Award & Certificates at the end of the competition.
