STUDENT’S BASIC CONSUMER ELECTRONICS AND SERVICING

COMPETENCIES AND METHODS FOR FACILITATING SERVICING

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the basic electronic servicing competencies and

methods for facilitating consumer electronics servicing of the grade eight students of

Technical-Vocational High Schools in the third district of Bohol for school year 2018-

2019. Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the level of competence of the grade eight junior high school students in:

1.1. using tools, equipment and paraphernalia;

1.2. performing mensuration and calculation;

1.3. practicing occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures;

1.4. maintaining tools, equipment and paraphernalia and;

1.5. interpreting technical drawing and plans;

2. What is the frequency of use of the following teaching methods by electronic

instructors in their shop classes:

2.1. lecture method

2.2. model-based method

2.3. design thinking (case method)

2.4. discovery method

2.5. collaborative method

2.6. field observation

3. Is there a significant effect on the level of competence of the students as affected

by the frequency of use of the teaching methods used by the instructors?

4. What is the implication of the study to the learning of grade eight students in

relation to basic electronic competencies and skills?
