to inform HR whether the documents of an applicant are correct and included all the documents.
Had to prelaunch the perk incentive programme to the employees so had to prepare an PPT that
would make the employees know what the theme is all about and understand the importance of
incentive and had conducted games for the employees and based on it the prize distribution was
done.
Had to approach customers regarding the profit club card worth Rs.10000 and 5000 (was
successfully done with 4 customers).
Had to promote the future pay app offer and was asked to approach customers (approached 20
members)
Had to go through register of the employees to calculate number of days the employees were on
leave and number of days they were present.
The audit sheet was given to fill (included the feedback of the employees).
Had to prepare store maintenance audit sheet and also the business compliance checklist.
Selection is the process of choosing from a group of choosing from a group of applicants the
individual best suited for a particular position and organization. As it helps to reduce the cost of
training because qualified candidate can perform well and achieve organisational goals, it can
also reduce employee problems in the organisation such as labour turnover and absenteeism.
Recruitment and selection process is important for an organization to achieve its goals. When
the right people are selected, the employee will produce productive results and stay with the
organization longer hence having a low employee turnover. If selection is not carefully done, the
employee may make mistake which leads to financial loss. It also wastes the time of human
resources managers to go through the recruitment and selection process again.
In general, the adoption of methods varies with type of organisation and job requirement.
Strategies mainly includes of getting the right people, developing selection criteria for the
position and choosing different methods of recruitment. A good recruitment plan includes a mix
of recruitment strategies and a variety of communication process to inform other organizations
and relevant communities of the available position. Some of the methods adopted in Big Bazar
were as follows.
1. Employee referrals
2. Internet Recruiting
3. Internships
4. Job consulting agencies
During my internship program, the method of ‘employee referral’ was adopted for
recruitment of candidate. Recruitment through referrals encourages employees to recommend
potential candidates from their network. It is important to treat all referrals with respect and
follow-up in a timely manner. People recruited by employees usually have knowledge of the
work of the organization and reduces time and cost of recruitments.
The recruitment process mainly included to ‘identify the hiring need in respective departments
and number of employees required. The next step was the method to be adopted and identify the
viable candidate as per requirement. As mentioned above (3. Nature of work assigned/Job
responsibilities) I had to go through the files of applicants who were approached through
reference.
And was assisted to fill up the employee’s information and feedback during their training period.
The last process was offering of employment, hiring of the candidate and on boarding of the
candidate.

the appropriate people for an appropriate job so as to have good performance of the organisation
and also about the gratuity and have also gained practical knowledge of how things get worked
in an organisation, how an HR Manager takes an initiative in choosing the right people for the
right job at right time for his organisation and also was also able to improve my skills .
