European Standard EN 1519-1 : 1999 has the status of a DIN Standard.

A comma is used as the decimal marker.

National foreword
This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 155.
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Wasserwesen (Water
Practice Standards Committee), Technical Committee Kunststoffrohre in der Abwassertechnik.
It should be noted that for a period ending 31 July 2001, DIN 19535-1 and DIN 19535-2 continue to be valid
in Germany. During this period, pipes and fittings of polyethylene for use inside buildings may be manufac-
tured to conform either to DIN 19535-1 and DIN 19535-2 or to the present standard, in conjunction with
DIN 19535-10.
DIN EN ISO 1043-1 is the standard corresponding to International Standard ISO 1043-1 referred to in
clause 2 of the EN.

Amendments
DIN 19535-1, March 1988 edition, and DIN 19535-2, April 1987 edition, have been superseded by the
specifications of EN 1519-1.
