On the auspicious day of Phalguna Poornima (Saturday

(Saturday, March 15th 2014), Shiva Vishnu Temple will be
performing Sri Lalitha
ha Sahasra nama Homam with lotus flowers. Devotees will chant 1008 Sri Lalitha
Sahasra nama’s during the homam and offer their prayers. Sri Chakra Navaavarana puja and Sahasra
nama Archana with Lotus flowers are also planned for the day.

Sri Lalitha Sahasra nama is very powerful and sacred text from Brahmanda purana. It is a hymn that
describes the 1000 names of Goddess Sri Lalitha devi and praises the goddess as the Divine Mother
or Shakti or Power. In Durga Sukta, a, sadhaka's vision the mother D Durga
urga explained as follows: I do prostrate
to the holy lotus feet of Durga,
ga, with colored flames of sacred fire emerged out of Her strenuous penance, the
radiance from the divine body spread around, ready to award the spiritual boons to Her devotee sadhakas
as per their karma or action, and very generous to make devotees to the ocean of birth and death cycles
(samsara Jaladhi). It is enough to understand the greatness of the he Devi and her sthotra parayanam. She is
very much pleased by hearing the sahasranama of Her own.
