Briot Limited Warranty
• Briot machinery and instruments are carefully tested and inspected prior to shipment.
Every possible care has been taken to deliver them to you safely.

Programs
Warranty
• This warranty is valid only after the warranty registration card is properly completed and
returned to our corporate headquarters within ten days after purchase/installation date.

• This limited warranty is extended to the original consumer purchaser of the Briot product.
Briot warrants all parts and components thereof, to be free of defects in material and
warkmanship. The warranty does not cover chucks, plastic shields, plastic covers, fuses,

disk drives, light bulbs, bearing parts, and diamond wheels which have been worn out
by normal use. These are normal replacement items.

• The warranty commences on the date of installation, provided the warranty registration
card is submitted and shall remain in effect for a period of twelve months. Briot will not

pay for loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of your Briot product, or properly damage
caused by your Briot product or its failure to work, or any other incidental or

consequential damage.

• The limited warranty does not apply if the failure is caused or contributed by any of the

following: improper handling, improper use, improper transportation, improper


reinstallation, abuse, unsuitable application of the unit, lack of reasonable and necessary

maintenance, or repairs made or attempted by other than Briot or one of its authorized
sales and service distributors. This warranty does not cover defects resulting from
accidents, damage while in - transit to your place of business, fire, flood and acts of God.
Briot will repair or replace, at its option, a unit or part proved to defective whitin the
warranty period and under the conditions of the warranty.

• Whereas consumer purchaser receives credit to any portion of the sale price with respect
to defective or non conforming parts, the defective or non-conforming parts must be
returned to Briot in order to obtain such a credit within 15 days.

• The limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including the
implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for particular pupose, and all such
other warranties are disclaimed except to the extent of any implied warranty that may be
imposed by State Consumer Law. Any implied warranty that may be imposed by Consumer
Law is Limited in duration to one (1) year from date of installation.

Terms and Conditions

Warranty
1. TERMS
The Briot machine is warranted for a period of one year under the Briot Limited Warranty (See
Agreement Details). Upon termination of the Briot Limited Warranty, the selected Briot ProCare
Extended Warranty commences. The Briot ProCare Extended Warranty must be purchased at the time
of the Briot machine perchase date. This Agreement shall become effective when signed by the
customer and accepted by an authorized Briot Representative and shall continue in effect until
terminated pursuant to Section 7. The terms and conditions contained in this Agreement, constitute
the entire Agreement between Briot and the Customer.

2. WARRANTY SERVICES
Briot shall provide to the Customer, with respect to the Equipment purchased, Maintenance Service

by a Briot Representative. Briot will provide unlimited toll-free technical support to the Customer to
promptly restore equipment to good working order from Monday through Friday from 8:00am

to 7:00pm (EST). On-site service will be determined at the discretion of a Briot Representative.
If an on-site service call is determined to be necessary by a Briot Representative, the next available

service visit will be scheduled. Parts supplied by Briot may be used, repaired or rebuilt and be
furnished on an exchange basis. The replaced parts become the property of Briot. When replacement
parts have been provided by Briot, without the services of a Briot Representative, the replaced parts

must be returned to Briot by the Customer within fifteen (15) days. Any such parts not returned to
Briot within that period will be deemed purchased by the Customer at Briot's current list price and
shall be due within thirty (30) days of receipt of invoice. All covered parts under this Agreement will

be shipped two-day UPS at the expense of Briot.

3. WARRANTY SERVICE FEES


If an on-site service call is determined to be necessary by a Briot Representative, the next available
service visit will be schedule. All Briot ProCare Plans provide covered travel expenses for the Briot
Service Representative. The Briot ProCare Program provides service based on Briot's current hourly
labor charges. The Briot ProCare Plus Program provides two (2) service calls at no charge with
subsequent visits at Briot's current hourly labor charges. The Briot ProCare Premium Program
provides unlimited service visits at no charge.

4. CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS
For the period of time Briot is providing service under this Agreement the Customer shall:
(a) Provide a suitable environment to operate and service the equipment
(b) Operate the equipment in accordance with Briot's Operating Instructions
(c) Not permit any attachments, alterations, interconnections or modifications to the Equipment
without the prior written authorization from Briot
(d) Agree to perform the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance set forth in Schedule 1
(e) Use only Briot consumables or prior approved equivalent

5. PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE SERVICE VISITS
All Briot ProCare Extended Warranty Programs are conditional of the Customer to schedule and Briot
to perform two (2) Preventative Maintenance Service Visits per year during the Terms of this
Agreement. The Briot ProCare Program charges standard hourly labor fees, the Briot ProCare Plus
Program provides the Customer with a 10% discount on the hourly labor fees and the Briot ProCare
Premium Program provides the Customer with a 20% discount on the hourly labor fee.

6. ADDITIONAL SERVICES
The additional services provided in this section are not provided as Warranty Services described
in Section 2. These services are provides at Briot's current rate for hourly service and spare parts
based on:
(a) Neglect or use of the equipment for purposes other than that for which it was designed or
failure to operate this Equipment in accordance with Briot's operating instructions
(b) Accident or disaster including acts of nature, vandalism, burglary or abuse

(c) Alterations to the Equipment including any deviation from the original design
(d) The use of improper or inadequate supplies or replacement parts

(e) Repairs necessary due to lack of proper daily, weekly or monthly maintenance per the
attached Schedule

(f) Training of new staff or supplemental training of existing staff
(g) Packing, moving, relocating and re-installing of Equipment
(h) Consumable items such as grinding wheels, belts, lamps, fuses, disk drives, pattern setting

assemblies, adapters dressing sticks and panel sheets (see Page X for additional cosmetic
consumables
(i) Accessories such as pattern setting assemblies, tank and pumps

(j) Cosmetic damage
(k) Labor for upgrades

(l) Other services and parts not contained within this Agreement. All consumable parts purchased
in Section 6 (h) above under the Briot ProCare Plus Program will receive a 10% discount from
current parts price and Briot ProCare Premium Program Customers will receive a 20% discount
from current parts price.

7. DISCLAIMERS AND TERMINATION OF WARRANTY


This Agreement does not apply to any equipment damaged by accident, natural force, misuse,
use of parts or consumables not approved by Briot. Briot reserves the right to cancel this
agreement immediately for non-payment; modifications made to the equipment, installation or
repairs by personnel not prior to approval by Briot; non-compliance with Section 4 or Section 5
or for any other violation of this Agreement by the Customer. This Agreement is only for machines
cutting 12,500 lenses per year for four years, or a maximum of 50,000 lenses or four years, which
ever comes first. This Agreement commences one year from the Standard Briot Warranty date
and continues for three years as otherwise provided within this Agreement.

8. EXECUTION
If the Customer is a corporation or partnership, the person signing the Agreement on it's behalf
certifies that (s)he is an officer or partner thereof and has the authority to enter into this
Agreement.

8. MISCELLANEOUS
This Agreement is not transferable without prior approval from an authorized Briot
Representative.

• The door opening key is inactive during the wheels rotation.
• Opening manually the visor stops the wheel motor and switches the machine
in error “visor function”.
Clamping
• To clamp the lens you have to hold the key until the clamping shaft gets
in contact with the lens.
• Releasing this key when clamping will automatically open the clamp.
• You have two seconds to release the key when the clamp is in contact with
the lens otherwise the clamp opens back if this delay is over.
• Starting the cycle with the clamp open will generate the warning message

Safety Precautions
• Turn off the water supply EVERY NIGHT
• Use the 3M™ Leap™ II Briot blocking edging tapes
• Lubricate and clean the lens clamping adapters,

Wheel Dressing
• To make sure your Briot unit is continually edging at peak
efficiency, it is important to perform wheel dressings on a
regular basis.
• Briot advises dressing wheels every 800 glass lenses.
• Not dressing the wheels will affect the sizing and edging time.
• The message Finishing wheel dressing recommended indicates
you that you can dress the finishing wheel ( only).

Automatic Wheel Dressing

pressure to use (according to the wheel type) of the following value.
