3.2.7 Installation Check

I. Debugging Alarm System

After the installation and power-on, the general alarm will generate 1—2 power-on
prompt sounds. LED on general alarm is on and then off before entering the normal
operation status: LEDs on all column alarms are off. LED on general alarm is off
without buzz and the monitoring cable is disconnected. When the protective unit for
debugging (simulating FS failure) is inserted, the column alarm LED is on. When the
column monitoring cable is connected, the general alarm generates the discontinuous
ding sound, LED is on and the main monitoring interface is connected. When the
audible alarm switch is closed, the sound disappears. When the protective unit for
debugging is taken out, LEDs of column alarm and general alarm are off and the
monitoring cable is disconnected. After debugging, set the audible alarm switch and
power switch to location “1” (that is, location “on” on the panel).

III. Check general alarm and column alarm

76) When the alarm input plug of each column contacts the grounding copper busbar
at the lower part of the frame body, the alarm indicator of the column should be
on and the general alarm should generate the audible alarm. If something is
wrong, the check is required.
 Whether –48V power of general alarm is input.

59
JPX202 Main distribution Frame Chapter 3 Installation, Cabling and Usage of Double-Sided
User Manual Frame

 Whether –48V power on the column alarm board is input.

 Whether the alarm signal output on the column alarm indicator board is in good
connection.
 Whether the grounding cable of the general alarm is connected to the copper
busbar at the lower part of the frame body.
77) Insert the protective unit for special alarm check into any grill of each cable side
terminal block. The red light emitting diode on the protective unit for alarm check
should emit the light and the alarm indicator of the column on the column alarm
board of the frame should also emit the light. Meanwhile, the general alarm
should generate the audible alarm signal. If something is wrong, the check is
required:
 If no alarm occurs to the cable side terminal blocks below the cable side terminal
block, the alarm cables of the cable side terminal block and the above cable side
terminal blocks are not connected.
 If the alarm occurs to some grills of the cable side terminal block but not to the
other grills, the cable side terminal block may be damaged.
78) The protective unit for special alarm check can be made at site. It is only
required to remove any fusible ring of K1, K2 and K3 switches in a protective unit
and make the alarm end S and grounding cable in short circuit.
79) It should be checked whether the lightning protection grounding cable of the
equipment room is reliably connected to the frame body. If the ohm part of digital
multimeter is used to measure the resistance of where the frame body and the
lightning protection grounding cable of the equipment room are connected, the
resistance should be smaller than 1Ω.

3.3 Cabling Guidance of Double-Sided Frame

The cabling of double-sided frame includes the upward cabling of external cable,
downward cabling of intra-office cable, the connection between external cable and
cable side terminal block, the connection between internal cable and exchange side
terminal block and the connection of the jumper between cable side terminal block
and exchange side terminal block

3.3.1 Layout of External Cable

80) The external (backbone) cable is led in according to the pair number required in
the design (If necessary, it can be made into the connector of end branch and led
in from the basement or the room under the measurement room to the
measurement room via upward cabling hole).
81) Strip the jackets of the external cables and then weave them. After that, bind
them up with the fire-resistant plastic tape.

60
JPX202 Main distribution Frame Chapter 3 Installation, Cabling and Usage of Double-Sided

top mounting plate on top of frame body and is downwards connected to each
column of installation pole via the corresponding seam between the reinforcing
boards. Then it is fixed on the right side of sub-transverse bar with nylon thread
along the right side of the vertical installation pole.
85) Lead backwards the internal cable (128 pairs/cable or 64 pairs/cable) to the sub-
transverse bar and reserve a certain length. Bind it on the sub-transverse bar
with nylon thread. The reserved length is at the lower part of the corresponding
exchange side terminal block. See Figure 3-71.

The marking template for installation, as one of the accompanying accessories, is

used to determine the positions of mounting holes when connecting the frame to the
ground firmly. Put the marking template for installation in the designated place where
the frame is to be installed, mark the positions of the mounting holes with a chalk and
then punch with a punch drill.

4.2 Installation Guidance of Single-sided Frame

Take the single-sided frame SF4B as an example.

Determine the installation position of the single-sided frame according to users’

design requirements. A four-column single-sided frame SF4B that is to installed
against a wall is taken as the example for illustration in this manual.

The specific installation is performed in the following steps: installation of the frame
body, installation of the cable side terminal block , installation of the exchange side
terminal block , installation of the alarm system and the installation of grounding and
frame connecting.

4.2.1 Installation of the Frame Body

6) Open the accessory box that contains bolts, spring washers, plain washers and
nuts.
7) Take out two sets of vertical installation pole for protective unit and two single-
sided frame supporters, numbered 1 and 2 respectively. First take a set of
vertical installation pole for protective unit and a single-sided frame supporter
and put the poles on the horizontal table. Front and back poles should be
differentiated (There are installation holes for security block on the side of the
front pole). Align the holes of the pole and the supporter with a rubber mallet and
screw down with M616 combinations bolt, as shown in the Figure 4-12 and then
turn it over and screw down the combination bolt in the same place on the other
side. Install the second set of poles with the same method.

Chapter 6 Maintenance of Alarm System

6.1 Usage and Maintenance of Audio & Visual Alarm System

When the audio & visual alarm system in normal state reports an alarm, some light
emitting diode of the protective unit must be on; meanwhile, the column alarm
indicator is on and the general alarm sounds. If no light emitting diode of the
protective unit is on, meanwhile the general alarm and (or) the column alarm indicator
is on, it indicates that the alarm was reported by mistake. At this time, the fault in the
alarm line should be eliminated.
64) If the general alarm sounds, meanwhile, no column alarm indicator and light
emitting diode of the protective unit is on, check the fuse of the general alarm. If
it is broken, check whether there is a short circuit between the grounding and the
-48V circuit in the general alarm circuit. After the fault eliminated, replace the
fuse so that the alarm system can work again.
65) If the column alarm indicator and the light emitting diode are on, meanwhile, the
main device does not sound; check whether the components or the buzzer in the
general alarm is damaged. If so, replace the components immediately. After the
fault eliminated, the alarm system can work again.
66) If any light emitting diode of the protective unit is not on, meanwhile, the general
alarm sounds and the column indicator is on, pull the alarm signal lines out of the
cable side terminal block from the top down. If the alarm is vanished when the
signal line of one module is pulled out, the default can be located on this module.
Find out the faulty protective unit (the one which has reported an alarm but its
light emitting diode is not on). After the fault eliminated, replace the faulty unit
with a new one and put all alarm signal lines through.
67) Another possible situation is that there is no short circuit between electric power
lines in any circuit but the general alarm sounds and the column indicator is on.
Check whether the alarm line and cable side terminal block is short-circuited. In
addition, check whether the general alarm is faulty.
