Syllabus in Living in an IT Era

Vision of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts: The College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts of University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi envisions itself to be the
dynamic and proficient center of ENGINEERING, ARCHITECTURE, FINE ARTS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE education marked by the Tomasian Culture and its Catholic and Dominican
orientation.

Mission of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts: The College of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts of University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi, inspired by St. Thomas,
commits
itself to the pursuit of truth through distinct application and dissemination of knowledge, immersed in Christian Values essential for the development of the Community, the
Country, the Church and the World to produce competitive engineers, architects, artists, and information technologists.

Goals: The CEAFA aims to:


1. Sustain the academic programs in line with engineering, architecture, computer science, and fine arts;
2. Produce responsive graduates and students;
3. Improve on academic performances by the students and faculty;
4. Recognition of the CEAFA (students, faculty, and admin staff) locally and internationally;
5. Support the research and development program of the university.

Objectives: The CEAFA aims to:

1. To continually produce graduates and attain an increase in the enrollment;


- to encourage faculty to become full-time employment status;
- to recognize the need for expansion of the department;
2. To review on the requirements by CHED
- to comply with the accreditation requirements
3. To produce students and graduates who are:
a. developed as total persons; spiritually, morally, emotionally, intellectually and socially responsible stewards of God’s creation and teaching;
b. academically competent and capable; technically skilled; qualified to both local and international standards.
c. advocates of social, political, economic and moral reforms for community development.
4. To closely monitor academic services by the faculty and students performances;
5. To produce and recognize students/graduates and faculty who are able to identify potentials in the physical environment and advocates programs for community
development;
- to produce and recognize students of exemplary academic performances and participates in both local and international competitions/assemblies/seminars and
workshops;
- to support and recognize faculty for exemplary professional contributions
6. To encourage faculty to take up post graduate courses as part of their professional development programs.

Program Educational Objectives:


The Engineering program prepares students to be able to develop effective ways to solve engineering and computing problems, design and implement deliverables, devise new
ways to use appropriate tools and technologies to the field of practice.

Program Outcomes: The graduate of computer science program must attain the following abilities:
 to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical, engineering, and information sciences to the practice of civil, industrial, computer and electronics engineering
 to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data
 to design, build, improve, and install systems or processes which are efficient, effective, as well as robust to meet desired needs within identified constraints
 to recognize, formulate, and solve problems related to the fields
 to effectively communicate orally and in writing using the English language
 to engage in life-long learning and an understanding of the need to keep current of the developments in the specific field of specialization
 to use techniques, skills, and modern tools necessary for engineering practices.
