WARRANTY PERIOD AND SPARE PART REQUIREMENT FOR EQUIPMENT & MATERIALS OF
ELECTRICAL WORKS

LV Factory Built Assemblies


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Provide manufacturer’s recommended spare parts for emergency replacement and/or one year’s
maintenance including, but not limited to, the following:
(a) One set of fixed and moving contacts for every type of replaceable (consumable)
contact set.
(b) One operating motor and/or coil for each type of electrically operated circuit breaker.
(c) Two sets of each type of indicating lights, fuses, LEDs, control switches, and similar
devices subject to failure or breakage at any time.

Protective Devices
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Provide manufacturer’s recommended spare parts for emergency replacement and/or one year’s
maintenance including, but not limited to, the following:
(a) One set of fixed and moving contacts for every type of replaceable (consumable)
contact set.
(b) One operating motor and/or coil for each type of electrically operated circuit breaker.
(c) Two sets of each type of indicating lights, fuses, LEDs, control switches, and similar
devices subject to failure or breakage at any time.

Motor Starters
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials described below that match products installed, are packaged with
protective covering for storage, and are identified with labels describing contents.
(a) Spare Indicating Lights: Furnish 6 of each type required.
(b) Control Fuses: Furnish 10% of the total quantity of each rating used, with a minimum
of one per type.

Low Voltage Variable Speed Controllers
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: a minimum of five years from the date of commissioning by the
manufacturer with a minimum of Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials described below that match products installed, are packaged with
protective covering for storage, and are identified with labels describing contents.
(a) Spare Indicating Lights: Furnish 6 of each type required.
(b) Control Fuses: Furnish 10% of the total quantity of each rating used, with a minimum
of one per type.

Light Fittings
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period except for LED fixtures and lamps where the warranty shall clearly reflect that
any defective LED fixture and / or lamp during the specified warranty period will be replaced.
Unless otherwise noted, warrant fluorescent lamps and associated standard ballasts for a period
of two (2) year from the date of substantial completion of Works.
Warrant LED fixtures for a minimum period of five (5) years from the date of substantial
completion of Works. Include personnel, equipment and labor for replacing lamps and ballasts
that become defective within the Warranty Period. The warranty shall clearly indicate that there is
no limitation on the luminaire operating profile.
Electronic Ballasts: Standard five (5) year full replacement parts and labor included warranty.
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials described below that match product installed and that are packaged with
protective covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents.
(a) Fixtures: 1 for every 50 installed, but not less than 1 of each type.
(b) Lamps: 10 for every 100 of each type and rating installed. Furnish at least one of each
type.
(c) Plastic Diffusers and Lenses: 1 for every 100 of each type and rating installed. Furnish
at least one of each type.
(d) Ballasts, control gear, driver and transformers: 1 for every 100 of each type and rating
installed. Furnish at least one of each type.
(e) Globes and Guards: 1 for every 20 of each type and rating installed. Furnish at least
one of each type.

Emergency Lighting
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion (10 years for
batteries).
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials that match products installed and that are packaged with protective
covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents. Deliver extra materials to client
stores.
(a) Fuses: 25 percent of each type and rating, but no fewer than 3 of each type.

(b) Cabinet Ventilation Filters where applicable: One complete set.
(c) Change Over Modules: 10% percent, minimum one unit of each type.
(d) Circuit Board: One spare circuit board for each critical circuit.

Power Factor Correction Capacitors


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Provide manufacturer’s recommended spare parts for emergency replacement and/or one year’s
maintenance including, but not limited to, the following:
(a) Three sets of each type and rating of indicating lights, fuses, LEDs, control switches,
and similar devices subject to failure or breakage at any time.

Standby Diesel Generator


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Provide manufacturer's recommended spare parts for 1000 hours operation of the plant. Provide
list of manufacturer's spare parts for 2000 hours operation together with current prices. Pack with
protective covering for storage and identify with labels describing contents.

Uninterruptible Power Supply


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion (10 years for
batteries).
Spare Parts:
1. Spare Parts: Provide and deliver to client stores manufacturer's recommended spare parts for
one year operation of UPS system. Spare parts shall include as a minimum complete set of
fuses for all types and ratings along with cooling fans.
2. Provide list of manufacturer's spare parts for five years operation together with current prices.
3. Tools and Instruments: provide tools and instruments required for normal routine inspection,
testing, operation and general maintenance, as recommended by the manufacturer.

Elevators/ Escalators
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion (Motor shall have
5 year warranties).
Spare Parts:

Generally: Supply loose equipment, spare parts and accessories as required for normal operation
and routine maintenance of the systems and as detailed by the Contractor in his offer for spare
parts and accessories. Supply is to include, but is not limited to, the following:
(a) Loose Equipment: Operating handles, emergency brake release keys and the like.
(b) Spare Parts: One complete set of main contacts and control coil for each type of
power contactor, solid-state PC cards, contacts and control coils for each type of
control relay, two each of transistors, diodes, rectifiers, resistors etc. used in control
circuits, one complete set of indicating lamps, fuses, capacitors, circuit-breakers,
contact points etc., air filters, brushes, bearings and the like, as necessary for two
year operation.
(c) Tools and Accessories: Tools and equipment required for routine checking,
maintenance, testing and control of installations, with appropriate portable measuring
and test instruments.
Identification: Parts are to be packed in sealed plastic bags with identifying labels and factory part
list numbers.

Lightning Protection System


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion. (5 years extended
warranty for the corrosion of external materials)

Power Distribution Transformers


Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:
Spare parts: provide spare parts as recommended by the manufacturer including but not limited
to the items below, for one year maintenance, as expected under local conditions, and to allow for
emergency replacement due to accidental breakage or failure. Spare parts shall include but not
limited to the following:
(a) Spare parts for dry type transformers with quantity greater than two shall include but
not limited to fan, fan controller and temperature monitoring unit with a quantity of two
percent of total number of transformers, with minimum one unit each.
Tools and Instruments: provide tools instruments required for normal routine inspection, testing,
operation and maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
Provide complete price list of spare parts adequate for five years operation as expected under
local conditions.

11kV Switchgear
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period: Two (2) year from date of substantial completion.
Spare Parts:

Spare Parts: Provide spare parts, as recommended by the manufacturer, for one year
maintenance as expected under local conditions, and to allow for emergency replacement due to
accidental breakage or failure. Spare parts are to include, but are not limited to, the following:
(a) Two sets of each type of lamp, fuse, auxiliary switch, trip coil, control switch, selector
switch, neon indicator and the like.
(b) Complete set of main contacts of each rating.
(c) Complete set of breaker/switch auxiliary contacts.
(d) Complete mechanism of breaker/switch of each type.
(e) Drive motor of each type.
Tools and Instruments: Provide tools and instruments required for normal routine inspection,
testing, operation and maintenance including levering crank, manual charging handle, manual
shutter operator, testing jumpers and MV test bushings, set of rail extensions, digital micro ohm-
meter, set of mobile lifting and handling equipment etc. as necessary for the type of switchgear.

Exterior Lighting
Warranty Period:
Manufacturer’s Warranty: Submit a written warranty signed by the manufacturer agreeing to
repair, restore or replace any defective equipment specified in this section during the specified
warranty period
(a) Warranty Period Except for LED Fixtures: 2 years warranty from the date of Taking
Over.
(b) Warranty Period for LED Fixtures: 5 years warranty from the date of Taking Over.
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials described below that match product installed and that are packaged with
protective covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents.
(a) Replaceable Lamps other than LEDs: 10% of each type and rating installed. Furnish
at least one of each type.
(b) Replaceable LED Lamps: 3% of each type and rating installed. Furnish at least one
of each type.
(c) Fully Equipped Lighting Fixtures with irreplaceable lamps: 1% of each type and rating
installed. Furnish at least one of each type.
(d) Ballasts and Control Gear: 1% of each type and rating installed. Furnish at least one
of each type.

Network Lighting Controls


Warranty Period:
General Warranty: Special warranty specified in this Article shall not deprive Owner of other
rights. Owner may have under other provisions of the Contract Documents and shall be in
addition to, and run concurrent with, other warranties made by Contractor under requirements of
the Contract Documents.
Special Warranty: Written warranty, executed by manufacturer agreeing to repair or replace
components of dimming controls that fail in materials or workmanship within specified warranty
period.
Warranty Period: System to be guaranteed for two (2) year from date of Substantial Completion
and of the defective liability period.
Spare Parts:
Furnish extra materials described below that match products installed and that are packaged with
protective covering for storage and identified with labels describing contents. Deliver extra
materials to Employer.
(a) Modular Single-Pole Relays: 1 for every 10 installed. Furnish at least one of each
type.

(b) Electrically Operated, Molded-Case Circuit Breakers: 1 for every 20 of each type and
rating installed. Furnish at least one of each type.

General Note:
 Warranty Period: Manufacturers shall provide their standard guarantees for products furnished
under this Contract, unless, otherwise mentioned in this document.
 Spare Parts: Provide spare parts, as recommended by the manufacturer and in compliance with
QCS2014.
