B. Company Description/ History
Our company serves the best foods. In more than 3 years, we make
different products that become a hit for everyone specially in local
and it started when different kinds of products started to have fruits as
flavors; and so, we came up with a plan wherein we ought to have a
company that will supply the market with products having such flavors,
with our national fruit, the mango, as the symbol. Mango Ventures is a
company that will take the risk just to create a product that will
successfully hit customer’s demand. Firstly, we started with small
products which are mango-flavored drinks. Drinks can satisfy our thirst
and it is made extra special when it is flavored. As time passed by, we
decided to make sweets combined with mangoes, giving rise to
Pastillas Ala Manga. We realized that it is not enough if we will just offer
a product that is common to everybody. If you will go to every part of
our place, definitely we can encounter flavored drinks such as fruit
juices or water flavored drinks. So we are offering a dessert that you
can eat wherever you are to feel such sweetness, sourness or a mixed
feeling of the two. Offering a dessert added with mango bits is not that
common. We can say that there are some places who are offering
Mango Pastillas, but not that much. Mango Ventures is a company
that is very persistent, in fact, it is a company that wanted to boost
Filipinos nationalism in their hearts knowing that mangoes are our
national fruit and aside from that for customers to get a healthy life
knowing that it has a lot of benefits which will be discussed in the
product description.

C. Product Description
In our country there are varieties of desserts to choose from, one of
which is Pastillas. A pastillas is a sweet, sugary dessert that is well known
and loved by most Filipinos. Common pastillas that we’ve seen every
day is wrapped in an orange colored transparent plastic which is thin
and elongated that is inadequate to consumer’s satisfaction. So we
came up to the idea of why not give Pastillas a new twist, that is
adding a special fruit that is loved and seen every day; that is
Mangoes. If we will observe in every part of our country mangoes are
seen in every part of it and in fact it was custom as a snack for many.
Our product involves a no-cook recipe and is intended to satisfy the
cravings of every Filipino consumer. In order for it not to be plain, we
came up with the idea of adding bits of mangoes to taste the
sweetness of our very own mango. Aside from that we also offer a
Pastillas which is flavored with sweet-sour taste. It is a product wherein it
gives a new feeling for the customers. We decided such thing because
a lot of people in our country are so fun in buying green mangoes
sidewalk because of its sourness. These green mangoes are added in
our product to deliver such feeling. We are proposing such product for
mangoes to become more likeable due to the reason that most of the
people today are used in buying foreign products making our very
own Filipino products left behind. So why mangoes? Because we
believe that at some point, there will be time that mangoes are out of
trend, so we Mango Ventures will make sure that mangoes will not be
forgotten as time passes by and we’ll make sure that our customers will
love the product that we will offer for them.
In connection with the rise of Pastillas Ala manga, We are not just
offering an ordinary Pastillas, it is a special Pastillas Ala Manga that will
not just satisfy your hunger but can affect all your system due to the

benefits that mango can give. Mangoes have many benefits that can
contribute to our body, some of which are first preventing cancer this is
because mangoes have high amounts of Pectin which prevents
everyone from developing prostate cancer. Next, it can promote one
to gain weight, aid in digestion and excess acidity, slows the signs of
aging, promote brain health, boost immunity, diabetes management
and it helps in curing Anemia. There are still a lot of benefits that
mangoes can contribute in one’s health. With the help of our product
by adding bits of mangoes, it can save one’s life by preventing one
person to encounter such problems. In fact you will experience that by
buying our product in a cheap price which is just Php 8.00. Imagine,
you can extend your lives and can prevent you with such health issues
with this product without causing you so much money. Pastillas ala
Manga is not just intended to please one’s eyes, to be popular or to
satisfy cravings, but it is intended to bring healthy life and a happy life.
D. Location
Since we made a survey in school which is Saint Louis College, San
Fernando, La Union this will be the place where we will start our
business. Based on the survey, it shows that from this place majority of
the people which includes parents, Junior High students and Senior
High students agreed that Pastillas ala Manga is a good business in
terms of Amiability, Uniqueness, if it is Purchasable and Sellable.
Aside from that, in our observation especially in lunch, most students
buy mangoes mixed with vinegar, and at this point, you can see the
great number of demands of the students who wants mangoes. So
instead of going out, we will locate our stall inside the campus,
specifically near the grandstand wherein we will now be selling our

very own Pastillas ala Manga in order for the students and parents to
have an easy access.
F. Start-up Capital
Our start -up capital will be enough for our small business which
amounts 5,000 pesos. This capital can be acquired through the
collaboration of the different employees in our business in order to
achieve such product. Starting business with such amount will cover up
important expenses such as ingredients, man power, supplies,
decorations and other stuffs. We believe that starting a small amount
of capital combined with great effort can give us desirable profit.

B. Target Market
Based from our survey, most of the people who want to recommend
our product are parents. So, we want the flavors of our products to pique
the interests of the adults so they would be able to recommend our
products to their children, peers, and workmates. Our target market is the
people whose age range from 8 and above. We aim to sell our products
for those who are stressed, that they may be able to relieve their stress
with our sweet, luscious product.
C. Competitors
In business, we cannot avoid competitors. In our case, we can say that
our possible competitors would be those stores that are offering a large
variety of desserts. Since our company is just limited with mango products,
it will turn out that this would be our weakness and an advantage to our
competitors. Customers will likely enjoy buying sweets to those stalls,
making us left behind. But this will not become a hindrance for Mango
Ventures, in fact these weaknesses will be our strengths and inspiration to
continue the battle in leveling up our products.
In order for us not to be surpassed by our competitors, we make sure to
have products that will give customers a unique taste and view of it for
them. In order to arrive to such ambitions, we scout only the best people
in their different areas who, with their credentials, can surely attend to the
needs our product have. We do not want our target market to be dulled
out by our products over and over again, so we make sure to introduce
many flavors, infused with different touches of different places in the
Philippines, for them to experience different cultures in the tips of their
tongues. In time, we aim to offer different mango flavors infused with other
flavors, like mango-strawberry, mango-coconut, mango-banana, and
more flavors foreign to our target market.

Aside from that, our product is competitive because compared to
other companies, we serve the best mangoes. We don’t rely on buying
mangoes on different markets. We make sure that we will buy those
mangoes in trusted markets and make sure that it is sweet and fresh. We
also supply our product to different markets, stores, and marts, offering the
customers easy access to our products. Another one, in just a cheap
price, they can taste such a sweet pastillas and feels like they are in the
land of Zambales because this is the place where we can find the
sweetest mangoes and by that we wanted to fee that peculiar feeling.

emergency, we trained also our employees about their safety; giving
knowledge on how to overcome such accidents. In order to be
convenient and to learn quickly, we offer trainings according to the mode
of delivery such as Classroom trainings in which we give instruction or
information through lectures; on- the- job training which they will learn by
doing and job rotation for them to be expose in the different fields of job
activities. Trainings are made also so that new hire can cope up with their
co-employees.

IV. Budget Plan
Budget is very important especially in any kind of business; it gives you
an assurance that you will have enough money to spend for the things
that you need. It requires being wise for this matter as well as the steps
that you need.
In our budget plan, we make plan for each needs. Planning will be the
first step in all things specially in budgeting which will serve as a controlling
system. We consider the different factors that may affect our business
most specially the economic factors. We make estimations in our different
needs, but we make sure that it is accurate enough in order to be
meaningful. In our resources, we make practical but creative decisions in
order to attain a desirable profit and get more customers. We also make
use of our resourcefulness such as finding alternatives that can save
money. Next is prioritizing our needs over wants. It’s hard for some to
choose needs over wants, but in this case we make list on what must be
the first to buy or prioritize first specially when starting a business.
In our first move, we make simple steps having a small investment
because it’s complicated to start a business making it big already. But
even if it is a small business, we make sure that we will get our target profit.
Our planned budget will be approximately 2000 pesos. Our ingredients
will cost approximately 500 pesos while our fixed cost will be 1300 which
will be enough to cover up the fare, booth as well as the salary of our 2
workers and 200 for the other utilities.

V. Conclusions/ Recommendations
There’s no perfect business, in fact it has a lot of challenges that
may come along its way, but these challenges can help the business
shape or mold itself to grow.
Mango Ventures has different strengths or advantages like it can
adapt to its customers’ needs and wants by listening to their
suggestions and will give you different varieties of uniqueness. Our
main product which is the Mango pastillas is one of the strength of our
business because these product is very unique here in our town, living
in province is also an advantage for our business because some of the
ingredients that we will be needing in our product is only being sold at
a very low price but in a high quality. Maybe one of the disadvantages
that we will encounter will be on the supplying of mangoes because
we will not just buy any mangoes in any market but we decided that,
the mangoes that we will use will be directly from our chosen town
which is in Iba, Zambales. Next is mangoes are seasonal fruit and it is
hard for us to find alternatives but whatever happens, we will find a
solution. Collaborating with different companies will be one of the
Opportunities that we will have by joining with different type of
businesses it will help both businesses in growing and encouraging
more consumers to purchase both our product because it will give
them another taste of products. We cannot prevent having
competitors in business because in our case, the possible competitors
will be the other companies who will be selling other type of dessert
that is familiar to the taste of the people, because our product is not
that familiar to the people, the mango flavor to be exact, they will find
it weird that a pastillas is flavored as a mango because not all people
wants mangoes. We will ensure that we will not let these threats beat

our product and we will make sure that consumers will pick and buy
our product.
