Perfect for the summer holidays, this crocheted

Beach ensemble is a very easy project.
Just add sunshine for a fabulous day out!
 Measurements: 19 x 27 cms

You will need:

• 1x 50g ball each of Rico Creative Cotton Aran
in: Red (5), Cardinal (11), Fuchsia (13)
Smokey Pink (14), Sky Blue (37) Royal (39),
Light Green (40),Light Pistachio (44), Teal
(47), Light Yellow (63), Smokey Orange (72),
Orange (74), Tangerine (76) and White (80) *
• 4mm crochet hook
• Tapestry (blunt) needle for sewing in ends
• 3 x 2cm buttons

• This amount of yarn is enough to make all three items,

with a little left over.
 *To make the tr2cl:
Stitches and Abbreviations:
(I use UK crochet terms) Yarn over hook, hook into
stitch.
Double Crochet (dc) 2. YOH, pull yarn through
Half Treble Crochet (htr) stitch (3 loops on hook).
Treble Crochet (tr) 3. YOH, pull yarn through
Double Treble Crochet (dtc) first 2 loops (2 loops on
Double Crochet 2 together (dc2tog) hook).
Treble Crochet 2 Cluster (tr2cl)* 4. YOH, hook into same
Treble Crochet 4 Together (tr4tog)** stitch.
Chain 1-space (ch1-sp) 5. YOH, pull yarn through
Slip Stitch (sl st) stitch (4 loops on hook).
Stitches (sts) 6. YOH, pull yarn through
Back Loops Only (BLO) first 2 loops (3 loops on
Yarn Over Hook (YOH) hook).
7. YOH, pull through all
loops.

** To make the Treble Crochet 4 Together (tr4tog) stitch:

1. Yarn over hook, hook into first stitch.

2. YOH, pull yarn through stitch (3 loops on hook).
3. YOH, pull yarn through first 2 loops (2 loops on hook).
4. YOH, hook into second stitch.
5. YOH, pull yarn through stitch (4 loops on hook).
6. YOH, pull yarn through first 2 loops (3 loops on hook).
7. YOH, hook into third stitch.
8. YOH, pull yarn through stitch (5 loops on hook).
9. YOH, pull yarn through first 2 loops (4 loops on hook).
10. YOH, hook into fourth stitch.
11. YOH, pull yarn through stitch (6 loops on hook).
12. YOH, pull yarn through first 2 loops (5 loops on hook).

Tablet Cosy Pattern

This cosy is worked from the bottom upwards in

joined rounds. At the end of every round, join
with a slip stitch to the first st (or top of ch)
of the round.
You can easily adjust the height of the cosy by
altering the number of rounds. To adjust the
width, just make sure your foundation chain is a
multiple of 12.

Foundation chain: In Sky Blue, ch 72.

1. In Smokey, Orange, Ch1 (doesn’t count as a
st). Beginning in same st as ch1, *2dc, htr2,
2tr, 2dtr, 2tr, 2htr* repeat around. (see
chart)

2. In Orange, ch1 (doesn’t count as a st).

Beginning in same st as ch1, 1dc in each st
around.
Tablet Cosy Pattern

3. In Tangerine, ch4 (counts as dtr). Beginning in

next st, 1dtr, 2tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, 2tr, *2dtr,
2tr, 2htr, 2dc, 2htr, 2tr* repeat from * to *
around.
4. In Red, ch1 (doesn’t count as a st). Beginning
in same st as ch1, 1dc in each st around.

5-36. Repeat Rounds 1-4 using the following

colours:
Light Pistachio, Fuchsia, Orange, Teal, Sky Blue,
Royal, Smokey Pink, White, Red, Light Green, Light
Yellow, Smokey Orange, Teal, Tangerine, Royal,
Light Yellow, White, Red, Tangerine, Sky Blue,
Fuchsia, Light Pistachio, Smokey Orange, Orange,
Sky Blue, White, Red, Royal, Light Pistachio, Teal,
Fuchsia, Light Green.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Tablet Cosy Pattern

Make sure the waves at the top of your cosy

match, then turn it upside down and using Sky
Blue, work from right to left and dc the edge
closed, using the unused loops of the
foundation chain.

Then sew 3 buttons to the inside of the back

edge, making sure they line up with the tall
dtr stitches on the front – the space between
these will act as a handy buttonhole!
