Objectives: The students will:

 Discuss rules for staying safe online / review privacy and personal information
 View video about online friends through Vimeo
 Access and proceed through NearPod slideshow cooperatively with a partner
 Read 2 scenarios with partner
 Fill out Venn Diagram, comparing and contrasting differences between situation 1 & 2

Anticipatory Set:

 Students will have background knowledge of privacy rules and general understanding of
sharing personal information with other people. Students will be able to access a shared
NearPod lesson, and successfully go through the slides.

Procedure:

 Teacher and students will review personal information and privacy terms and ideas at the
board, discussing the importance of keeping personal info safe.
 Model accessing NearPod slideshow at board, showing the materials they will be
working on during their individual computer time.
 Students will work with partners to complete all tasks in their NearPod slideshow.
 Student groups will take turns presenting to peers their two scenarios and how the
situations are the same and different.
 Which situation turned out better? Which kept personal info the safest?

Assessment:

 Listen to student responses and gauge understanding during discussions at board.


 Monitor student progress at individual stations during independent work time.
 Check answers to NearPod assignment, and student group presentations at board.
