Chapter I. Products Components

Intelligent inspection management system includes Guard Tour Reader, data communicator (USB

cable or data communication socket), address button, name button and software CD.

1.1 Guard Tour Reader

Data acquisition recording storage device designed and manufactured by RFID-radio frequency

technology and micro-computer technology is used to record place, equipment and inspection time

inspected by guard.

1.2 Address information button

A special RFID inside which is packaged with inductive receiver and a unique hexadecimal code

controlled by procedure chip. It is used to identify tags, inspection equipment, goods name and

guard name (see Figure 2) and installed in patrol sign-in desk or inspection equipments.

1.3 Name information button

Guard identity card (see Figure 3) is the identity card information firstly read by Guard Tour

Reader for inspection, and punched on the patrol sign-in desk. Patrol sign-in data saved in Guard

Tour Reader shall be according to guard names and can be queried from software.

1.4 Data Downloader

It is used to download Guard Tour Reader data to the computer, with the type classification is

shown in Table 2.

1.5 Software CD and Dongle

V3.7 version is the stand-alone software and can only be installed and used on the local computer,

supplied with an installation CD.

V6.0 version is B / S structure network software and installed on the server computer to support

for uploading and querying data on LAN and Internet, supplied with 1 installation software CD

and 1 software dongle.

Chapter II Operational instructions of Guard Tour Reader

2.1 How to Read Card

Make blue (or black) induction card-reading head of Guard Tour Reader close to address

information button (see Figure 6), press the switch and then Guard Tour Readers will prompt by

sound of “Di” within 5cm distance, the indicator light will flash for 4 times to confirm successful

card reading. GS-6000C / E Guard Tour Reader can immediately display backward 4-digit of card

number.

Guard Tour Reader automatically read card close to the information button.

2.2 Shutdown

According to low power saving design, Guard Tour Readers in types of GS-6000B, C, D, E can

automatically shut down after 10 seconds of non-operation.

2.3 Content description of LCD display

Repeatedly press the switch button when GS-6000C / E does not read card, and LCD screen

successively displays the current time, data number resulting from card-reading of last time.
Press 1 time to display the current time, Such as:

Press 3, 4, 5 times, display hexadecimal card number in three screens, such as:

Where: H presents hex, 210015B386 is 10-digit card number.

Before Guard Tour Reader is put into official use, it must be communicated with the

computer and calibrated with time, and at the same time, number of Guard Tour Reader shall be

recorded for future management.

2.5 Data Communication

Connect with computer through a dedicated data communication lines to upload data (see Figure

7).

Pull out waterproof rubber plug of the Guard Tour Reader head, connect Guard Tour Readers with

computer by dedicated communication cable, operate inspection management software and select

Guard Tour Reader number of: GS-6000B, C to run "Read Probe". Press switch button of Guard

Tour Reader, then the software system shall automatically search Guard Tour Readers proofread

time, upload data, store data and process, etc. (See Figure 7)

2.5.2 Upload data of GS-6000D/E/F Guard Tour Reader

GS-6000D/E/F Guard Tour Reader uploads data to the computer through dedicated wireless data

communication cradle (see Figure 8).

Use standard USB data connections to connect data download base with USB port of computer,

place indicator light of Guard Tour Reader on communication cradle with one upright side, start to

operate "Read Probe" in the management software, select type of "GS-6000D/E/F", then

automatically, the software shall check whether communication cradle is online, activate Guard

Tour Reader, read out number of Guard Tour Reader and data inside and save analysis data.

2.5.3 Working status instruction of communication socket

Long ring for once time and all the 4 indicator lights flash after communication socket is

connected to UBS port of computer.

When buzzer sound stops, red indicator light on upper right corner flashes to indicate that

communication socket can work online properly.

Other working status indications of indicator lights are illustrated in Figure 9.

2.6 Prompt message of Guard Tour Reader

2.6.1 Prompt of successful card-reading

The buzzer sounds for 1 time and indicator light flashes for 4 times after card reading, which

indicates card is successfully read.

2.6.2 Prompt of Low Power

After pressing button to start up machine or read card, indicator light is found to flash constantly,

which indicates low battery power. Please timely upload data, and then replace battery. Pay

attention to calibration of Guard Tour Reader clock after battery replacement.

2.6.3 Prompt of clock error

The buzzer sounds for 4 times and indicator light flashes for 4 times after starting up machine or

reading card for the first time, which indicates clock error inside Guard Tour Reader and card

reading data is invalid. Please calibrate the computer clock before use it.

2.6.4. Prompt of full data storage of Guard Tour Readers

Long sound followed by short sound after card reading of GS-6000B/C/D/E Guard Tour Readers,

and then the indicator light flashes for 2 times to indicate full data storage inside Guard Tour

Readers. Please upload data on time.

shall be displayed when re-reading card after full data storage in GS-6000C / E Guard

Tour Readers.

Indicator light flashes for 4 times along with sounding for 4 times after GS-6000F Guard Tour

Reader re-reads card to prompt that data is fully saved. Please upload the data.

2.6.5 Prompt of hardware error of Guard Tour Reader


Buzzer sounds for 4 times and indicator light flashes for 4 times after starting up the machine, and

the LCD of GS-6000C / E Guard Tour Reader displays to require for Guard Tour

Reader initialization and clock calibration. Please communicate with the computer and initialize

Guard Tour Reader, set up Guard Tour Reader number and calibrate time.

2.6.6 Prompt of error message (GS-6000C / E)

: When initially power up the Guard Tour Reader and press switch, the buzzer sounds for

4 times, indicator light flashes for 4 times and the LCD displays Er 00 to indicate requirement for

Guard Tour Reader initialization, number establishment and clock calibration before operation.

: Without initialization and clock calibration after power supply for Guard Tour Reader,

the buzzer shall continuously sound for 12 times when communication with computer and Guard

Tour Reader data read, and LCD of GS-6000C / E shall display Er 11. The disposal method is

same as that of Er00.

: Without initialization and clock calibration after power supply for Guard Tour Reader,

or clock error inside Guard Tour Reader, the card-readers will show ER12 to indicate invalid

card-reading due to clock error. The disposal method is same as that of Er00. Otherwise, it shall be

sent back to factory for repair of hardware failure.

: Guard Tour Reader displays Er13 and buzzer sounds for 4 times as soon as it is open to

indicate hardware failure after card reading and need to return back to factory for repair.
Chapter III Installation method of address button

3.1 Address button in type of round chip

Applicable models:

GS-D03, GS-D04, GS-D09

3.1.1 Smooth walls (marble, tile, glass, etc.)

Mix AB glue according to ratio of 1: 1, smear it on the back of information button, directly paste it

on the patrol sign-in point, and hardly push it down for about 30 seconds until glue solidified.

3.1.2 Cement-type wall

Punch by shot bit with Ф 6 drill holes at the installation address, put it into the plastic bulge,

evenly smear and paste AB glue on the back of address button with it, at last, fix it with tapping

screws (in order to prevent loss or artificial damage, light-emitting labels or other identification

card can be pasted at mounting hole).

3.2 Tubular Address button

At the right height above ground, punch by shot bit installed with Ф 8 drills in depth not less than

30mm, clean dust in the hole, wrap address button with rubber hose or elastic material, embed and

screed it with glass cement, put it into the hole and paste it with signboard or sign.

3.3 Metal surfaces or equipment metal shell

If you need to install address button to the metal surface or metal shell of equipment, you must use

a special anti-information metal button, and install 5mm thick insulation pad so as to ensure the

best effect of card reading.


Chapter IV Problems may occur in system operation

5.1 The Guard Tour Reader fails to read card

5.1.1 We have to wait for 10 seconds to re-read card after Guard Tour Reader just finishes reading

card.

5. 1.2 We have to wait for 10 seconds to read card when Guard Tour Reader communication is

over.

5.1.3. Please check whether the Guard Tour Reader is with low power by referring to 2.5.2. Please

change the batteries on time.

5.1. 4. Please check whether Guard Tour Reader is fully stored with data by referring to 2.5.4.

Please upload Guard Tour Reader data on time.

5.1.5 Please check whether the clock error of Guard Tour Reader is available and handle it by

referring 2.5.5 and 2.5.6.

As other situations except the above cases, please contact the supplier or manufacturer for advice

and disposal.

5.2 The Guard Tour Reader data can’t be uploaded to a computer

Please refer to the relevant instructions of software manual.

5.3 Replace battery of Guard Tour Reader

5. 3. 1 Replace the battery of GS-6000B/C/D/E Guard Tour Reader

Step 1: Remove black rubber waterproof rubber plug at the top of sensor head, remove waterproof

silicone on the screw by tweezers, unscrew two hexagon socket set screws;

Hold the sensor head by hand and do not snap sensor antenna.

Step 2: then remove the labels under back cover, and unscrew 4 set screws in back cover;

Step 3: Replace with new batteries (be careful that the battery lead will not suffer from any tension

and waterproof tape shall be put away in the tank), and fasten the back cover with screws.

The two screws of the sensor head shall be added with silicone sealed waterproof.

5. 5. 2 Replace battery of GS-6000F Guard Tour Reader

Peel off the label on the rear cover of Guard Tour Reader and open the rear cover by the circlip

pliers. It is necessary to re-proofread clock of Guard Tour Readers for re-use after batteries

replacement.
