PLAN OF STUDY

Canada is not only a peaceful and a well-developed country but also has a remarkable education
system. All my life, I have perused my education in my home country, Pakistan. I believe this
program will give me a tremendous exposure by enabling me to study in a foreign country. I am a
Sociologist major, experiencing new cultures and society is one of the predominant aspects of my
educational goals. What’s more, experiencing different cultures is one of my passionate
interests/hobbies as well; studying in Canada will enable me to get a grasp of their diverse cultures
and subcultures. I always wondered how quickly Canada became one of the most prosperous
countries in the world, certainly the most prosperous in the region. I am committed to applying my
academic knowledge to learn the sociological impact in Canada’s incredible prosperity.

I believe this is a great opportunity to do my P.hd in Canada, learn in complete different

environment and from different instructors. I always had an interest in studying the society, Social
Structure and Social research; that help to resolve the challenging issues in my Community. In my
M.phil in Sociology, I got myself a meticulous insight into sociology and its genesis. I read various
books and studied lives of different scholars such as my favorite: Dr. Sigmund Fraud. I plan on
getting as much exposure as possible, because I believe practically studying new cultural and
societal norms in various communities is way more vital than merely reading it in a book. I lack
the finances to go abroad, so this scholarship will give me a start into my journey of sociology.

I found myself enlightened after reading many scientific studies as well as theoretical explanations
behind the formation of the values and beliefs among individuals and social groups. Although, I
have a number of plans to peruse including opening a social entrepreneurial organization and an
NGO, but prior to doing so, I have to complete my education but financial barriers there in my
way to complete my education, so this scholarship will help me to complete my higher education
in a foreign country, which is always productive especially for a student of sociology major. After
studying in Canada, I will return to my home country with more knowledge and share my
experiences. Not only to share the experiences, but try to enlighten my friends and people in the
community about the outcomes of experiencing in various cultures of Canada. Canada is a

brotherly friend of Pakistan; I will do my part in further enhancing mutual understanding and build
more social and cultural bridges. I’d feel extremely honored if given the opportunity to represent
my country as a student in Canada.

Over the past few years, I involved myself in a large number of social activities and Social welfare.
From last 4 years I am working with United Nation (World Health Organization) as Polio officer
in Polio eradication program. Moreover, I have also worked with different National and
International NGOs for the betterment of my Community.
