Assignment 1 – Understanding and Interpreting a Brief


Learners will write a report about working to a brief in the creative media sector

Overview
Consider the different types and structures of briefs and how to read a brief (reviewing examples)
Discuss these types of briefs to stimulate unit evidence and achievement.
Consider how to identify opportunities for self-development through working on a brief.
This assignment is designed to develop learners’ ability to underpin knowledge and understanding
of working to a brief in the media industries through research and in preparation for Project
Pitches (Unit 4:2).
Present a written report (1,000w) to provide evidence to cover all the assessment criteria set for
Unit 5:1
