IM Cristof Sielecki from the popular YouTube Chess Channel

“ChessExplained” started making videos for his channel about a
year ago and built a very large following with over 2,000 subscribers
and nearly 400,000 hits! The German IM Christof Sielecki is an
excellent chess teacher who communicates his ideas very clearly,
making him popular amongst beginner and advanced crowds alike.
In the below video, I examine a very nice positional win by IM
Sielecki (ChessExplained) over IM Mark Van der Werf using intense
positional pressure. If you enjoy this video make sure to check out
IM Sielecki’s channel and also check out the coverage he did of one
of my games.

IM Christof Sielecki Demonstrates Great Positional Attack

ChessExplained opens with 1. Nf3 and ends up playing a Double-
Fianchetto opening, avoiding immediate complications and taking
the game into a smoother, positional route. Black spends time trying
to generate counterplay on the queenside but is too slow,
meanwhile white completes a fluid development and initiates an
attack in the center – leading to excellent piece-play. Black fails to
sense the danger and snatches a pawn at a very bad time with 21.
…Qxa3? – deserting the kingside which ChessExplained takes
advantage of with a ferocious kingside attack – leading to black’s
resignation on 29. Be6!
