1. Caliper- is a device used to measure the distance between two opposite sides of an object.

A caliper can
be as simple as a compass with inward or outward-facing points. The tips of the caliper are adjusted to fit
across the points to be measured, the caliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between
the tips with a measuring tool, such as a ruler.

2.Chalk Line- is a tool for marking long, straight lines on relatively flat surfaces, much farther than is
practical by hand or with a straightedge. They may be used to lay out straight lines between two points, or
vertical lines by using the weight of the line reel as a plumb line.

3. Marking knife (striking knife) is a woodworking layout tool. It is used to scribe a line to be followed
by a hand saw or chisel when making woodworking joints and other operations.
4. Ruler- is a device with equally spaced markings along its length, used in geometry, technical drawing,
engineering and building to measure distances or to rule straight lines.

5. Rasp File- is coarse form of file used for coarsely shaping wood or other material. Typically a hand
tool, it consists of a generally tapered rectangular, round, or half-round sectioned bar of case hardened steel
with distinct, individually cut teeth. A narrow, pointed tang is common at one end, to which a handle may be
fitted.

6. Flat File- a file with two flat surfaces and small sharp teeth on some or all of its surfaces; used for
smoothing wood or metal.
7. Round files are machinist's files and, just like half round files, they can be used for creating
semicircular grooves, finishing and deburring concave surfaces.

8. Half round, ring and marking files- are exceptionally versatile machinist's files The flat sides of a half
round file can be used in the same way as a flat or hand file.

9. Try square- is a woodworking or a metalworking tool used for marking and measuring a piece of wood.

10. Woodworking hand planes- are hand-held, hand-powered tools with blades fastened into metal or
wooden bodies that are used on all types of wood.
11. 6. Spokeshave- - It consists of a metal blade in a wooden or, more often, a metal frame. Spokeshaves
can be made from flat-bottom, concave, or convex soles, depending on the type of job to be performed.

15. Backsaw- - A saw with a thick steel or brass spine, has handle and sawplate. the back saw has a TPI
(teeth per inch) of 10 TPI.Used for joinery or with a miterbox for accurate cutting.

16.

18. Coping Saw- -It is widely used to cut moldings to create coped rather than miter joints. It is
occasionally used to create fretwork though it is not able to match a fretsaw in intricacy of cut, particularly in
thin materials. Used to cut intricate external shapes and interior cut-outs in woodworking or carpentry
