• Tips for Preparing Your Audition (For Acting for Film applicants)
i. Please prepare two contemporary, contrasting monologues of
approximately 60-90 seconds per monologue.
ii. Please do not perform monologues from classical texts i.e. Shakespeare,
Chekhov, Ibsen, or original works. Please do not dress in costumes or bring
props.
iii. Monologues should be age appropriate and from a legitimate source
material, either from a play, screenplay or from television. They must be
performed in English. We suggest reading as many plays as you can get your
hands on. This will help you begin to recognize the structure of a good scene
within a play. Please feel free to contact the admissions office if you have any
question regarding appropriate material, or if you need any
recommendations.
iv. Most importantly, we want you to find pieces that excite you. Look for
monologues and characters that you have a personal connection to and that
allow us to see your talent and personality.

• Tips for Preparing Your Audition (For Musical Theater applicants)

v. All Musical Theatre Applicants prepare two contrasting musical theatre
songs with musical accompaniment, and one 60-90 second monologue from
a published contemporary English language play or screenplay.
vi. It is important to choose material that is age and type appropriate. We
suggest reading the entire play, screenplay or libretto prior to your audition.
This will help you understand the character and their circumstances. Please
feel free to contact the admissions office if you have any question regarding
appropriate material, or if you need any recommendations.
