• All equipment used by players must be appropriate for the game except for objects that could cut or
cause abrasions e.g. jewelry (fingernails must be closely cut).
• At least 10 minutes before the game is scheduled to begin, each captain shall indicate the 5 players to
begin the game.
➢ The captain and vice-captain may communicate in a courteous manner with the officials during the
game to obtain information only when the ball is dead and the game clock is stopped.
• Unused time-outs may not be carried over to the next half or overtime and
➢ Only the captain and vice - captain has the right to request a time-out. When the captain and vice –
captain are playing during the game, then the players have the rights to request a time – out.
• If the ball is live when an injury occurs, the official shall not blow his whistle until the team in control of
the ball has shot for a field goal, lost control of the ball, withheld the ball from play or the ball has
become dead.
➢ If the injured player cannot continue to play immediately (within approximately 15 seconds) or, if he
receives treatment, he must be substituted unless the team is reduced to fewer than 5 players on the
playing court.
• A player who has committed 5 fouls shall be informed by an official and must leave the game
immediately. He shall be substituted within 30 seconds.
➢ The team foul penalty is triggered when a team commits more than four fouls in a quarter; the fifth and
subsequent team fouls will incur penalty free throws.
• All calls and violations that the referee will call will be accepted and respected by all players.
• No team shall lose by default. If a team forfeited a game, there will be a corresponding penalty for that
team.
• The 2 teams who will have the highest win record will be the teams eligible to play for the
championship game.
“Win over the other” rule will be applied. This means that:

Tie Breaking Process:
As seen in the example above, Team A will be emerged as the number 2 team that will fight for the
championship round even though both Team A and Team B have the same won – loss record. This is how
the “win over the other” rule is applied.
➢ The team that will have the highest total points in the finals game will be crowned as the champion for
the men’s basketball division in CHS fest.
