Date:
This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the
IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and
found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx
Scheme Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended.
STANDARDS:
The electrical apparatus and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was
found to comply with the following standards:
This Certificate does not indicate compliance with electrical safety and performance requirements other than those expressly included in the

EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this certificate are as follows:
The 3-6VFD# and 3-6VFD#AL Pilot Valves comprise a rectangular aluminium alloy enclosure containing solenoid pilot valves. The
enclosure comprises two halves, which when fitted together form a flanged joint. The lid is secured by ten M6 x 20 hexagonal socket
cap head screws. The enclosure may contain up to six electrical solenoids, which activate up to six pneumatic valves. The valve ferrule
tube forms a cylindrical (interference fit) joint with the enclosure. In the event of a leak process media is vented external to the
flameproof enclosure. Cable entry facilities are provided by means of a single M25 x 1.5 or 3/4 inch NPT threaded entry facility
designed to be installed with a suitably certified cable entry facility.
The 3-6VFD# and 3-6VFD#AL Pilot Valves are identical with respect to their design and construction with the exception of the O-Ring
materials used.

Conditions of manufacture
The Manufacturer shall comply with the following:
1. The E-coat shall not be applied to the flamepaths, thus
ensuring that they comply with clause 5.1 of IEC 60079-1, the
critical dimensions of the ferrule tube flamepaths shall remain
as stated in the Conditions of Certification.
2. The E-coat shall not be applied to equipment containing
heaters.
3. The Electroless nickel plating thickness on flamepaths shall
not be greater than 8 µm.
4. 3-6VFD#AL only: The cover of each enclosure shall be
subjected to a routine overpressure test of at least 14.34 bar
for a period of at least 10 seconds, as required by clause 16.1
of IEC 60079-1. There shall be no damage, permanent
deformation or leakage other than through flamepaths
permitted
5. 3-6VFD#AL only:The heater shall be set to turn on at a
temperature of +10°C, and turn off at a temperature of +24°C.
