Susan P. Wheatlake Center starts on new wellness path

By Victoria Martin
Weekly Voice

REED CITY — While

much has stayed the same
at the Susan P. Wheatlake
Center, guests and patients
can expect a new addition
in the near future.
Officially breaking
ground in early September,
the Wheatlake Wellness
Path will be the newest ad-
dition to the center to help
bring peace and exercise to
those going through their
cancer journey.
“We’re so excited about
this project,” said Wheat-
lake manager Jen Ames.
First mentioned in June
of this year, the $250,000
project has been funded
entirely by charitable
donations and is being con-
structed entirely by local
companies.
The addition of the path
will aid in the center’s ef-
forts to treat more than just
cancer.
