Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

It is necessary to pass the Praxis Core Exam before moving forward with a degree

in education because teachers need to have an advanced understanding of the concepts in

these exams. To teach these concepts and subjects well, they must first be well

understood. To pass the Praxis Core Exams in Nevada scores of 156, 162, and 150 must

be achieved for Reading, Writing, and Mathematics respectively.

Exam Preparation

For the Praxis Core exam, I tried to prepare myself by reading online resources

and doing multiple practice tests. However, I did not have as much time as I would have

liked to prepare myself for these exams. I mainly utilized Khan Academy to prepare but

was unable to complete all of the study program that was provided.

Exam Results

Math was my best subject. I scored in the 96% range and I will be very likely to

pass this portion of the official Praxis Core Exam. My score for Reading was in the 70%

range which means I will need to study harder to pass this section on the official Praxis

Core Exam. Writing also needs improvement. I scored in the 78% range for writing

which means I am still on the borderline of passing.

Future Exam Preparation

To study for the official Praxis Core exam I will need to focus on the Reading and

Writing sections. I think it would be very helpful to have a book to study from for the

official exam and rather than purchase one I am planning to check one out from my local

library. I will also be utilizing Khan Academy for my future studies because it provides

an easy-to-follow exam preparation course.
