Introduction
Research Problem
1. Do the participants accurately perceive the lines through the basis given?
Theoretical Framework
Constructivism also have two notions about learning. The first one is that people
will be able to understand something based on what they already know. Their knowledge
about their past experiences became the foundation of a new information they will gather.
However, the second notion says that if their old memories do not match with their current
understanding on certain things, then they might consider to neglect the past in order to
store information from a new source of knowledge (Bada, 2015).
This theory is applicable to the experiment since the participants of the study are
all familiar with line measurements before, however, researchers showed them a set of
measurement samples to be their basis on finding the difference on measurement of two
lines. The information they gained after seeing the measurement sample became a way
for them to come up with their answers to the questionnaire.
Methodology
The research study started at the time the researches finished doing the paired
line outputs. As follows, the researchers also used a convenient sampling technique in
choosing their respondents. The participants were twelve (12) IAS students.
1. Upon the completion of the survey, a sample of (12) was included in the study and
the respondents were chosen. The paired line survey questionnaire was used by
the researchers in order to collect the necessary data for their experimental study.
2. Followed by the selection of the respondents, the survey was given and the study
was conducted.
3. After the completion of the survey questionnaire, the data were gathered,
analyzed and interpreted by the researchers.

Presented in Table 1 are the correct answers of the participants depending on the
difference the two lines has. In the table, 100% means that both from the paired
participants answered an item correctly, while 50% means that only one individual from
the paired participants answered an item correctly, and 0% means that no one among
each of the paired participants answered correctly. It is also indicated in the table that the
participants mostly guessed the right differences of paired lines if there were only 1 or 2
inches difference.
Conclusion
The researchers found that there is a common ground measurement on how the
participants perceived the lines depending on what inches the gap contains. It shows that
the higher the inch of the gap, the harder it can be perceived by certain people. It means
that the participants’ difficulty in perceiving lines is whenever the gap reaches 5 inches or
above, they tend to give wrong measurements on the given item. However, the lower the
inch of the gap, the easier it can be perceived by certain people. The participants
measured the lines easily when the inch of the gap is not high. They easily measured the
difference when it ranges from 1-2 inches. Therefore, for this experiment, the common
ground measurement of the participants is 2 inches.
