Detailed Lesson Plan in English

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. Portray the steps in delivering speeches through a role;
b. Construct their own speech and deliver it to the class;
c. Persuade the class of the importance of the speech.

How are you? We’re good Ma’am.

That’s good to hear. Before we proceed to our


activity this morning, everybody please stand up
(Students do as told)
for a prayer.

Before you take your seat, arrange the chairs


properly and occupy vacant seats here in front. (Students do as told)

So, everybody are ready to listen to our Yes Ma’am


discussion this morning?

Class monitor, kindly check the attendance of Yes Ma’am

c. Drill
Today, I’ll give you a quote. I’ll ask someone to
explain the meaning of it or you can simply share
to the class what you have understood of that
quotation.

HOW TO DELIVER A SPEECH

(Students do as told)
Everybody read.

Listen carefully for at the end of the lesson, you


are expected to do the following tasks:

Please read the definition altogether Speech is a spoken ideas, etc., that is made by
someone who speaking in front of a group of people.

There are four methods of delivering a speech.

1. Manuscript speech
-A speaker reads the “prepared
documents”

2. Memorized Speech In a memorized speech, the speaker memorizes the


prepared documents.
Who can define Memorized speech based on
the word itself?

That’s right.

Let’s have the third speech.

3. Impromptu Speech
- Not prepared speech

4. Extemporaneous Speech
- a speech with limited time for
preparation

There are three Main types of speech

The types of speeches according to purpose are:

1. The Informative
-Provide information

2. The Persuasive
-Persuade the audience’s beliefs

3. The special occasion


-speech that fits the occasion

STEPS IN DELIVERING A SPEECH (students read the steps)

1. know the subject and your speech


2. know your audience and your space
3. never apologize
4. imagine yourself giving a great speech
5. focus on your message, not on yourself.

explain the steps in delivering a speech. All you
need to do is portray the steps through a role
play. Be creative enough in presenting your play
that all your classmates will understand what you
are trying to portray.
