WUP Printing Center Business Plan

A. Executive Summary
WUP Printing Center is a business that handles services such as printing and photocopying
documents. It is located inside the campus of Wesleyan University of the Philippines –
Maria Aurora branch and will be operating every Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to
6:00pm. Our business goal is to deliver easy access to the services mentioned above for the
students and staff of the University at any time of the day for a very student friendly cost
and to provide wider range of services in the future.
Much more than delivering excellent jobs, our customer care is going to be second to none
in the whole of WUP. We know that our customers are the reason why we are in business
which is why we will go the extra mile to get them satisfied and to become our loyal
customer.

B. Company Description
WUP Printing Center is a business owned and managed by the University itself. It is located
inside the campus and is operational during Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Our business offers services such as printing and photocopying of documents which will
cater the needs of the students and staff of the University. Since WUP is home of thousand
students from secondary to tertiary, the main reason why the management of the University
decided to put up this business is to deliver easy access to the mentioned services at any
time of the day.

Our vision is to build a Printing Center that will have an active presence in the campus
catering the needs of the students and staff of the University and to provide a wider range
of services in the future.
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to become the top of mind and go to Printing Center of the students and
staff of the University by providing exceptional customer service and quality work at a
student friendly cost.
C. Marketing Plan
SWOT Analysis
This is the summary of the SWOT analysis that was conducted for the business:

 Strength:

Since it is given that students are busy with all their academic requirements and have
limited time only, the strength of the business is it is strategically located inside the campus
which means easy access for the provided services at any time of the day especially if their
requirements needs to be printed or photocopied urgently. Furthermore, we also think that
the cost of the services will be one of the strengths as well since it will be offered in a very
student friendly budget.

 Weakness:

A major weakness that may count against us is that our services are limited only to printing
and photocopying thus the students will prefer a one stop center especially when they need
wider range of service like binding, etc for their school requirements to save time and
energy.

 Opportunities:

The fact that the business is located inside the campus and the cost will be at student
friendly budget, majority of the students will prefer not to go out of the campus for printing
and photocopying requirements to save their time and energy.

 Threat:

A threat that may likely confront us is the centers that are located in front or near the
University which offers a wider range of services.

Our Target Market

We have strategically positioned the Printing Center inside the campus to cater the needs
of the students as well as the staff of the university. We are also welcoming outside
customers. We have conducted our market research and we have ideas of what our target
market would be expecting from us.
Our Competitive Advantage
WUP is launching a standard printing center that will indeed become the preferred choice
in the University since it is located inside the campus. In addition, our excellent customer
service culture, our student friendly prices, and reliability will also serve as a competitive
advantage for us.
Furthermore, our employees, which may include a working student from the University,
will be well taken care of that they will be more than willing to build the business with us
and help deliver our set goals and achieve all our aims and objectives.
Sales and Marketing Strategy

 Sources of Income

WUP Printing Center is established with the aim of maximizing profits in the Printing
Service industry and we are going to go all the way to ensure that we do all it takes to offer
our services and products to our target market exceptionally.
WUP Printing Center will generate income by offering the following services – printing
and photocopying of documents.
One thing is certain, students would always need the services of printing centers for their
numerous requirements at school.
We are well positioned to take on the majority of our target market and we are quite
optimistic that we will meet our set target of generating enough income / profits from the
first six month of operations and grow the business by providing a wider range of services.

 Marketing Strategy and Sales Strategy

WUP Printing Center will adopt the following sales and marketing approach to win
customers over:

 Encourage the use of word of mouth marketing (referrals from the


professors/Instructors)
 Introduce the business during school events
 Print pamphlets about our printing center and its location and post it in the key areas
where students spend their spare time such as canteens, library, washroom, etc..
 Put an advertisement in the school’s social media accounts like Twitter, Facebook,
Instagram, etc..
 Provide loyalty card
 Provide discount days for our customers

Our Pricing Strategy


Pricing is one of the key factors that give leverage to printing shops, it is normal for
consumers to go to places where they can get good deals especially the students. We are
aware of this trend which is why we have put structures in place that will enable us charge
fees that are a little bit below the industry’s average.
