RELIABILITY ENGINEER

FIJI AIRWAYS invites applications for the above position to be part of our Engineering
Department to be based at the Maintenance and Administration Centre, Nadi Airport. The
successful applicant will report to the Manager Technical Services (MTS).

Key Responsibilities:

 Reviewing and monitoring significant aircraft defects, recurring defects, dispatch


reliability, MEL usage, MEL deviation and to highlight trends and identify root
causes.
 Identifying and recommending the necessary changes to the Maintenance System
and/or Company Procedures to improve overall dispatch reliability
 Continuously reviewing defects on log pages and on routine maintenance task
cards, and updating the reliability database to ensure defects are rectified promptly.
 Maintaining history of all aircraft recurring defects and component strip reports by
ATA, including all investigations carried out to determine cause of defect and
corrective action
 Reviewing strip records from manufacturers/vendors and providing history and
document reports from reliability data and benchmark against industry standards.
 Developing and administering the system of controlling recurring defect, MEL
usage, Mel deviation and hold items for quick identification of status.
 Continuously reviewing engine and APU oil consumption and identifying any
abnormal trend.
 Compiling and reviewing data for monthly ETOPS review meeting
 Identifying ETOPS related incidents, defects and initiate required rectification
action.
 Maintaining register of FAA bi-weekly issued Airworthiness Directives, including
details of date of issue and compliance.

Qualification & Experience:

 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or


 Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Tertiary qualification or relevant
level of knowledge & experience.
 Minimum 3 years in an engineering background
 Knowledge of commercial aircraft systems; as well as a comprehensive
understanding of the Engineering & Maintenance requirements of aircraft.
 Experience in using computer based maintenance control programs
 Well-developed analytical, numerical, negotiation and problem solving skills
 Able to manage multiple information sources and demands under pressure.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 Conversant with the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
 Have a decisive and self-starting attitude with energy and motivation to be effective
in a demanding environment.
 Have a commitment to on-going maintenance of professional standards and the
development of relevant capabilities.
 Have a keen interest in trends within the airline and related industries.
