Chinatown Business Association (CBA) will
present the inaugural edition of its
performing arts festival, Opera Festival,
which aims to recreate the vibrant
Chinese opera scene of past Chinatown.

MINI EXTRAODDINARY 2019: An Ecocultural Trail
21 - 24 Nov 2019
MINI EXTRAODDINARY is a curated walking trail with art installations and
experiential activities themed around sustainability – with a Chinese culture twist.
It is organized by creative agency Kinetic for their client MINI.
Programme Highlights:
• A curated walking trail that allows patron to discover Kreta Ayer, and engage in
hands-on eco-cultural activity stations and instagrammable art installations.
• These installations pay tribute to the culture of Chinatown, while displaying the
importance of being eco-friendly.

POW! WOW! Festival

Wall mural art will be unveiled,

the Duxton Hill F&B, retail and

CHC Character Trail
To be launched on 23 Nov (TBC)
A real-life persona (e.g. trishaw rider,
coolie, majie, samsui woman) will guide
visitors through the Chinatown Heritage
Centre (CHC). Beyond the usual museum
visit, visitors are able to trace the
footsteps of Singapore’s early pioneers
and discover real-life anecdotes of
people who have made Chinatown their
home.
Kampong Glam
Kampong Glam comes alive with art – Experience Kampong Glam’s unique blend of traditional heritage and urban
culture through curated learning trails, roving street artists and performances, and interactive outdoor art installations

GlamArt! – ColourPlay

Colourful art installations of hammocks
and hanging mobiles around Kampong
Glam invite visitors to “lepak”.
Programme highlights:
• Custom hammock installations at
the main site (241 Beach Road),
before it is closed off for
construction of NS Corridor
• At night, the installations will be lit
up with back lights to create
fluorescent display
• 8 sets of dance and samba band
performances per weekend
• AR app bringing street mural to life

Gelam Gallery Alive
16/17 and 23/24 Nov, 2pm onwards
Launched in July this year, Gelam
Gallery is Singapore’s first outdoor art
gallery in the back lanes of Muscat
Street. This November, Gelam Gallery
will transform into an art street
inspired by the streets of Paris. Visitors
can experience a unique atmosphere
with the street being filled by roving
artists and performers (e.g. living
statues, dancers painting with feet,
bubble artists, puppetry, poetry
reading), bazaar stalls and community
activities.

Craft Walk @ Kampong Glam

art trail or explore the neighbourhood on foot, and try your hand at a series of art and craft workshops/ demonstrations
associated with the rich heritage of the place.

SVC @ Kim Choo

To be launched on 16 Nov
Kim Choo will be opening the first SVC in Katong
Joo Chiat (KJC) this November. Kim Choo itself will
also unveil renovated premises comprising a
cooking studio and workshop and demo stations.
Visitors can look forward to learn more about the
history and heritage of KJC and its community at
the KJC Gallery, or participate in workshops to try
their hand at cooking a Peranakan dish or two;
learn the art of batik painting, tile painting or
kebaya design.

KJC Art Circuit
To be launched on 16 Nov
In collaboration with GrabWheels, a self-
guided art trail will be launched in KJC,

showcasing the precinct’s art-related PoIs
alongside a series of new public art
