INTERNATIONAL MONTH
CELEBRATION 2019
Theme: “Preserving, revitalizing and strengthening the indigenous languages
of the different nations through music, arts and literature.”
“May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.”
Psalm 67:4
All the member states of the United Nations contribute finances to its operation to help further its goals. Aside from world
peace, recently its role has grown to include protecting human rights, promoting social and economic development, and
providing aid around the world in cases of famine, natural disaster and armed conflict.
OBJECTIVES:
1. The aim of celebrating such a day, the United Nations Day, is the essential celebration of the values which this organization spells forth-the
principles of humanity, unity, and world peace. Coming into effect after the two world wars and the cold war the United Nations was an attempt
to salvage humanity from the scourge of war and the wrath of destruction-most importantly to ensure that the human world would never be
subject to such instances of horror again. The promise has since been shouldered by the organization and many efforts to alleviate the human
condition have been attempted.
2. To develop and encourage the students to appreciate the core principles of intercultural understanding and synthesis and a larger and more
acute sense of being in the world, of belonging to a family, the largest family, the universe.
3. To appreciate other countries and human race regardless of cultural and religious diversity.
4. Enhances the creativity and authenticates the wild imaginations of the students thru writing, singing the national song of other countries and
performing tribal and cultural dance.
5. Promotes social camaraderie and sportsmanship between students.
6. Promotes teamwork and develops the spirit of cooperation among the students thru group activities.
7. Develop their critical and analytical thinking skills thru different challenges.
8. Express student’s care and concern for other human race.
