We provide in three chapters, teaching materials for the German classroom related to the Home Economic topic
‘Well-Balanced Diet’. The materials are grouped under four headings and offer a range of authentic materials that
can be explored within the German medium. Each part stands independent and teachers can create their own ‘mix’
in discussion with the Home Economics department.

Notes to the teacher
1. Zoom in!
The part ‘Zoom in!’ focuses on our daily food. Different food groups and nutritional content are examined.
2. Pausenbrot
The part ‘Pausenbrot’ illustrates the choice of German bread and introduces the typical German snack.
3. Schnellimbiss
The part ‘Schnellimbiss’ highlights the different food preferences and introduces German fast food.
