* Khi chủ ngữ là I, WE, YOU, THEY hoặc khi chủ… ngữ là một danh từ, ngữ danh
từ, ngữ đại từ số nhiều: ta dùng dạng nguyên mẫu của động từ
* Khi chủ ngữ là HE, SHE, IT hoặc là bất cứ danh từ số ít nào đó, ta thêm s hoặc
es ies ngay sau động từ
* Khi nào thêm s, khi nào thêm es ies sau động từ? Ta có quy tắc rất dễ nhớ như
sau:
+ Động từ tận cùng là ch, o, s, sh, x, thì ta thêm “es”. ví dụ:
watch --> he watches... go --> she goes... do --> he does...
miss -- she misses... wash --> he washes... mix --> she mixes...
+ Khi động từ tận cùng bằng “y”, ta đổi thành “i” rồi thêm “es”
* Trường hợp ngoại lệ : động từ trước ‘y” là 1 nguyên âm thì ko theo quy tắc này

* Tất cả các động từ còn lại ta thêm “s”
Ví dụ : + My brother likes ice-cream = tôi thích kem.

* Trường hợp ngoại lệ : have à has

1.CÁCH THÊM ED của động từ có qui tắc


a.Thông thường chúng ta thêm ED vào sau động từ
e.g.:watch => watched , plant => planted , ….
b.Động từ tận cùng bằng E , chúng ta chỉ thêm D
e.g.:live => lived , arive => arrived , ….
c. Động từ tận cùng bằng Y
-Trước Y là một nguyên âm (a,e,i,o,u),chúng ta thêm ED
e.g.:play=> played , stay => stayed,….
-Trước Ylà một phụ âm, chúng ta đổi Y thành I rồi thêm ED
e.g.:study => stadied, try => tried,…
d. Động từ một vần, tận cùng bằng một phụ âm trước có một nguyên âm, chúng ta
