As the Latin said it sine doctrina vita quasi mortis imago, without learning life is but the image of
death. Ladies and gentleman and of course the honorable judges let us reflect on this quote for a
little bit. Even from back in the day of old greek, people has already known the importance
of learning and studying, and rightfully so because studying is a way for us to acquire new
knowledge that we could use to further our place in this world so it is one of our survival skill.
Like the Latin proverb imply in this life without studying we would be as good as death, we
would be dumb, illiterate and basically have no life skills that we could use.

Ladies and gentleman we as humanity has changed a lot in our learning ways. When back in the
days only the rich and noble could study, it could not be much more different than today. Right
now everyone has the same chance to learn whatever their background are through free
education program through school, scholarship and many more.

And learning right now is not only limited to school and course, but we all as student could learn
from this nifty little device that we have in our pocket, a small but powerful device that holds
universe inside it. And what is it do you ask? Our smartphone.

I’m sure that all of us has one, whatever the brand be it Nokia, Samsung, Oppo, Iphone,
Youphone, Wephone. The usage is all the same to make our life smarter and simpler.

Especially for students like usKALIMAT having this piece of technology is very helpful for our
education. And how you may ask?

1. Having the world in your palm

Back then when we have a question we would ask someone older and more knowledgeable
than us for example our teacher. But the downside is our teacher is not always there by our side
and they don’t always have the answer for it. Whereas with smarthphone we just have to type in
our question into the search bar in our browser and poof in a few seconds an array of answers
will be made available for us to take and examine. And this is very useful because in this fast
world the power of knowing anything in a few clicks would be a huge advantage.

2. Mobility

No longer do we have to sit in a boring class for 8 straight hours to learn about something.
With this technology we have the ability to choose where when and how we want to learn. You
want to learn on your way home in the car? You could, learn while you are dating? You betcha.
The boundary of time and space is now a thing of the past. We could use whatever free time we
have to study using our phone.

3. Flexibility

We as humans have different way of learning that is usually known as the AVK method or audio
kinetic and visual, each individual has their own way to learn. But in your normal average school
not all of those need are catered to. With mobile phone we could chose our preferred way to
learn. If you are a visual kind of guy you could watch and search for visually appealing image, if
you’re the audio kind of guy there are numerous audio book and podcast that you can choose
from. Kinetic kind of guy? There are numerous interactive applications and games that could
help you study. Whatever type of learner you are using technology you could customize to your
needs.

4. It teaches us to be tech savvy.

In this era of globalization the mastery of technology is a prerequisite to advance in life, to

apply for a job for example. And by using it daily as a mean of education we could learn a thing
or two so that we won’t be well. Gaptek.

But of course it depends on how you use that technology. Because it is a double edged sword, if
you use it incorrectly the exact opposite of what you want to achieve might happen. If you want
to use your phone for studying you must use it as so, Don’t use it for other stuff that might
change your focus when studying. So turn of that notification from doi for a while to focus on
studying to better your future.

So let us be wise and use this abundance of technology around use to it’s greatest potential,
follow the current trend of globalization but don’t let it sweep you away. Be a smart student that
uses smart phone not a dumb person with a smart phone.
