4. Why is Reason not enough in carrying out Moral Decisions?

Emotion and reason are two different ways of knowing but can both be used in
the same situation. Using reason to make a knowledgable claim or moral decision
requires rationality and is justifiable, meaning that everyone would be able to
understand the argument for it. Emotion, on the other hand, is usually simply a “gut
feeling” or an opinion of an idividual and therefore has no evidence or points to
support a decision.

The decision or opinions of persons are justified and influenced by several ways
of knowing especially emotion and reasoning. Every human being is emotional, and our
emotions influence our decision making. A sad person might decide differently than a
happy person. Reason is influenced by the way how people percept and observe their
surroundings. Deductive and Inductive Logic is used to find the truth. Both Reason and
Emotional are contradictory towards each other as both are totally different.

Example:

a) Cheating in a relationship
b) Nepotism – showing favoritism towards one’s family members or friends in
economy or employment terms.
