Concept of Islam:

 Word Islam means peace (horizontal/with People) and submission (vertical/to God).
 Islam is a monotheistic religion. (God=Allah)
o He is Allah, the One, the Subduer (of all).
 God created mankind and they are to return to him on the day of resurrection.
o I have not created the jinn and humankind for any other purpose except that they
should worship me.
 124000 prophets were raised from people to guide mankind. (From Adam to Abraham, Moses,
Jesus and Muhammad(S)).
o There is no nation in which a warner (Prophet) has not come.
 Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) is the last messenger of God.
o Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the messenger of Allah
and the seal of the Prophets and Allah is aware of all things.
 Holy Quran is the last of 4 revelations of God.
 Islamic code of life for worldly and hereafter success.(socio-politico-religious and economic)
o I have not created the jinn and humankind for any other purpose except that they

o Hadith: Worship is the pillar of religion
 Divine will: Rewards and punishments for good and bad deeds.
 Beliefs: God, Angels, Holy Books, Prophets, Day of Resurrection.
 Basic pillars: Tauheed, Saum, Salat, Pilgrimage and Zakat.
 Simple and Rational beliefs. Soundness in concepts makes it easier to understand.
 Beholds the concept of equality and humanity.
 Similarities in Islam and Judaism:
1. Both are strictly monotheistic religions.
2. Torah and Holy Quran share concept of divine judgement.
3. They also share the concept of fasting, praying daily, almsgiving and dietary laws.
4. In Quran Jews are referred as Banu Israel and People of the book (Christian and Jews). And
are referred as offspring of Abraham (A.s)
 Similarities in Islam and Christianity:
1. Both believe that Jesus was born to Maryam/Mary virgin.
2. Both religions revere the early prophets including Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and
Jesus.
3. Both believe Bible as Holy book.
4. Both believed in miracles of Jesus. And in evil of Satan.
5. Dajjal or Antichrist will come.
6. Day of judgement.
7. Hell and heaven.
